So many islanders are ridiculously physically gifted.

The builds, the shape, the power. Got lucky with the genetic fairy.
Travelling the Pacific and fighting alot of small wars probably helped select for strong, powerful, athletic people.

Yes, but we also don’t want to be doing his reputation a disservice by playing him if he’s not up to it physically either.

I think it’s going to be one of the most challenging situations of Clarko’s first year.

Cunners has never looked like Majak at any point of his career, but to get back to even the shape he was in 3 years ago will take a flogging on the track of epic proportions. I dunno if anyone wants to do that to him at this stage of his career and I don’t think he’s been that type of trainer at any point in his career either.

You never write off a champ like him, but people shouldn’t be having him in any meaningful long term plans imo.

Anything we get out of him this year is an absolute bonus.
Bloke used to get his mum to drive hours to get him to a beach at 5am for recovery sessions. People underestimate his work ethic.

Completely agree. There's an assumption by some that because he's not as athletic as others or an endurance beast that he's a poor trainer you don't play AFL for 12 years without being an elite athlete.

mate of mine used to win body building contests without going to the gym... we used to joke he spent a lot of time climbing up coconut trees (which was actually true).

It’s a topic for another time, but how we handle Cunners this year is going to be interesting.

He’s definitely lost a yard and is coming from a very long way back fitness wise, which is understandable given what he’s gone through. He’s on his haunches for every drill.

Not sure athletically he’s ever going to be what he was.

He’s still as strong as an OX but he’s going to get run all over by opposition mids on the spread.
Forward pocket.

Climbing coconut trees is bloody hard work.

To look that solid - AT 202CM! Far out.

Friday afternoon drill - get the lunch order off Monky.

EFA mate.

Monky’s great mates with Gav Brown too so he’ll slot into his new environment with ease.

“…. and off he went. All the boys were cracking up laughing, he looked around a bit confused, so I thought I’d just let him know …. Jase, Adelaide’s that way”

When Arch, Scott and Harvey are dominating, the AFL will change the father and son rule so you are only ever allowed 2 on a list at once.
If we take Byron Jr. next year, and assuming McDonald, Scott, Archer and Harvey are all still there, will that be the most father-sons in the league?
