He needs to be able to tackle, and he is zero chance of breaking tackles to run lines when he is skinnier than a twig. He couldn’t tackle a kitten with his current body.
The thing is, lighter players need to develop a better technique to trap the arms rather than bring man down. Jaidyn has shown this numerous times playing on a wing.

He just needs to develop consistently in all aspects of his game.

Thats why I referenced Daniel Wells. One of the best kicks of a footy ive seen. Beautiful, it was like a haiku from hand to foot. Such a glorious thing to watch. Whenever wellsy had it in his hands, you knew (unless he was being tackled) that pill was in the lap no matter what! You can’t teach that s**t
Apart from that worm-burner that Jy produced playing as a man-possessed against Richmond last year, I think that Wells’ split second decision and vision to change a short cross kick to the wing from HB into a 65 metre zone buster and against the blues in 2013(?). All time best I’ve seen. Oh that and Carey’s left foot banana goal on the boundary against *.

Wells is hands down one of the best users by foot of ive seen. … ive see. Jy kick the ball on the full with possession behind a mark too many times to mention. Wells delivered it on the run. Freak! Carey was also a freak and the mention of talking wells and carey in conversation resolutes what “good” actually means

Do the ladder predictor. Top 8 laughably distant. I predict 5-6 wins. Name the teams we will beat is the question that must be asked. I had * twice and WC twice. One v Saints and Hawks once. Anything more than that seems totally unrealistic and even that many may be unrealistic.
I think you’re underestimating what this group can do under a good coach and a clear structure.

It was only round 17 last year that we were almost 5 goals up against the Pies at 3/4 time. Yes we lost that game but it shows that on any given day we can match and perhaps beat any opposition. Pies were an unstoppable force at that point in time. Of course I acknowledge we don’t have the consistency required to win on a regular basis but as Clarko said it will happen faster than we think. Personally I think we can win around 8 games this year.

I was just mentioning individual kicks.

Best kick for goal at North over the last 40 years: Carey/Abraham

Best kick over 35 metres: Harvey or Grant

Best kick over 50 metres: Wells

Apparently a few players signed Jack Mahony's guernsey thinking he was a little kid.
Crafty is a great fella. I was actually at training yesterday & the things Crafty can do for a man his size never seem to amaze me. The contract extension he received in 2021 could be a blessing in the skies. There'll be a lot of people on here eating crumbled pie when they hear "North Melbourne vs Geelong. North Melbourne, J Mahony, 1 vote."

One thing is a must this year......our heavy investment in the engine room needs to sparkle and shine so much that it attracts potential key position players from other clubs. Combined with Clarko coaching, more wins, and the odd unexpectant win will leapfrog the club forward next year.

Will Phil to take over the title of best 35m kick by the end of the year 😋

Wells butchered the ball a lot. The difference between his best and worst was more than anyone I’ve seen, until Hall came along. The really good kicks take more risk.

Abraham was one of the most skills players we've had. This goal in a final was special, @ 3:25. Was at the game. Pity injury finished him early. Only played two more games after this one.

Sorry Mav. 18 yr old, boundary line, 50 out, after the siren, to win the game. His skills by foot were sublime on the run and clutch were as good as the comps seen. People make mistakes, he was incredibly good by foot. How many times I watched that pill come off his foot and think, jesus ****in christ, that was something spectacular. He would also have 18+ kicks a game and he was very precise.

To keep it relevant, he was as good as a kid as he was as an adult. Can’t teach that shit Mav. Your argument is redundant

35 metre kicks Grant and Boomer. Man, SUBLIME! Good kicks don’t grow on trees. As much as it pains me, unless you recruit good kicks we’ll never see good kicks.

I think Will Phillips is one of our best kicks of the footy at the club, followed by Cunnington (when he kicks it the right way 😂), Goater is ****ing good, LDU when he is stationary.. other than that, possibly Tarryn? Our kicking depth isnt great.

When we discuss good kicks, this was the back bone of Clarksons domination. The use of good kicks as essential as quarterbacks. Left footers too.

If you can’t kick, you’ll be flicked under clarko

Brings back so many fond memories.
The 90's/early 2000's were an awesome time to be a supporter/member Loved watching players I wondered how the hell we would ever do without when they retired. Footage like this just puts a massive smile on my face.
