I was just mentioning individual kicks.

Best kick for goal at North over the last 40 years: Carey/Abraham

Best kick over 35 metres: Harvey or Grant

Best kick over 50 metres: Wells
Tarrant was an underrated kick - very good

Apart from that worm-burner that Jy produced playing as a man-possessed against Richmond last year, I think that Wells’ split second decision and vision to change a short cross kick to the wing from HB into a 65 metre zone buster and against the blues in 2013(?). All time best I’ve seen. Oh that and Carey’s left foot banana goal on the boundary against *.

The 2nd highlight in this Will Phil package from 2021 is a taste of things to come re: his vision and ability to open up the play with 45 metre passes! He could be the best of all of them.

Love that highlights clip, really shows his scope for potential.

Another good ball user who lowers his eyes like LDU is so desperately needed in our midfield. Give me Phillips kicking inside 50 over Simpkin any day.

One thing that the highlights don’t really show is his defensive prowess. The kid was one of the best two way midfielders I’ve seen in juniors.

He just balances out our midfield perfectly (same goes for Wardlaw too).

He’s the best kick at the club… Mav believe you can turn anyone into a kick like this. Impossible

Of all the things to question about Wellsy, his kicking isn’t one. It was next level. In todays game, he’d win games/brownlows/finals for us. I was at the WACA (I think) to see him slot one from the boundary and 2mins later produce the Jackie Chan. I mean, **** me, it was elite.

Was always part of a bunch of battlers during his career, and stood out as a result.

I’m expecting Clarko to love WhiPhi. Centre square specialist.

Obviously everyone is sick of ridiculous comparisons but I see a lot of GAJ about the way carries the ball and how clean/neat he is.

Oh I should have said , I’ve known old mate for over ten years and he’s never been so positive.

The whole place is just so positive apparently.
It is a different club now
Certainly looks that way from the outside. Glad that its not an illusion.

Can someone find video footage of that kick? Would love to watch it on repeat 🥰

Don't forget Tom Powell, our other first round pick from 2020. Hoping that he shows more of the potential that he displayed in his first year at the club - .

I'm somewhat disappointed with these highlights. I'd like to have seen some of Powell's Cunningtom-like handballs, which split packs and opened up play.

Wells butchered the ball a lot. The difference between his best and worst was more than anyone I’ve seen, until Hall came along. The really good kicks take more risk.
I also am aware that you are trying your best at a “gotcha” after the exchanges we have had. Lets be quite clear, concise and honest. All your inside info was for a completely different team. You waltz around these traps with some kind of swag… my work mate said the exact same shit you did when he was drafted. Carry on wayward son

For weighting of passes and up to 40 meters agree. Doesn’t have the penetration of an LDU, but that’s fine
Ooof… on weight, LDU doesn’t do up his boot laces when having a set shot.. lets be clear. LDU is a fantastic kick when he is stationary behind a mark, a very very good kick… on the run he does penetrate a little high and blaze over the lead.. with a set shot? Come on mate.

What LDU brings is not elite passing, its his evasive skills, his strength through his hips, his tenacity and his wit to read play. He is a ****ing gun at winning the ball and moving it forward.

And he is the best at the club moving it forward

And arguably the most handsome bloke at the club. He is just like Chris Judd. Almost an identical player. He is also identical to Josh Kennedy. The quiet type at winning the pill and giving it off

A more athletic Ben Cunnington.

Without a doubt, the best it's been for a very long time.
