Plan A please.

Would be a huge get

Why are United after strikers and attackers. I would have thought they needed other areas first.

Probably cause they only own one striker in martial. The other two are literally the first choice wingers.

The other blokes loan is expiring in a few weeks

Francesc Aguilar] Ousmane Dembele's camp has confirmed the reports of him being close to joining Manchester United. A deal would be closed for around €75m including bonuses

Francesc Aguilar] Ed Woodward, the executive director of M.United, was the one who contacted Ousmane Dembele's entourage and Barça. They had been trying for some time to convince Dembele, who wanted to stay with Barça. In the end, they succeeded because of the economic needs and Koeman's approval
I'll take him for that price if he can stay healthy would turn out to be a bargain.

But i've heard he's not interested in leaving. You'd think pogba or martial would have a word with him.

Sounds like it might be Cuisance, Cantwell and James on loan to finish it off.

We wont get Cantwell, Hay has poured cold water on that.

It was Cuisance or Cantwell by the sounds of it.

I think James will go out on loan to either Leeds or Brighton after Utd panic buy Sancho or their plan B nearing the deadline.

I could see us buying a reserve keeper late, as there's talk Casilla has a suitor somewhere in Spain.

United wanted to keep James and get a new winger.

It would seem unlikely they loan James even with a Sancho/Sarr/Demeble?

Iirc James said he doesn't want to be loaned out a couple days ago?

Either way I think the English teams can buy/sell/loan a couple weeks after the regular window closes

Not willing to find out for €70M.

I think James has said he wants to stay and fight for his spot, but United have said they will loan him if they sign Sancho or another RW.

We would be signing him for the left side however.

For the talent and still potential because he's only 23 years old you do it only if you can't get Sancho first of course.

We need a RW Greenwood is a gun but he's not a winger.

You'd rather glazer keep buying golf courses ?

Demeble is one of the most exciting players I've seen. Worth the risk imo

The risk is worrying for the fee. But if United decide to buy him, nothing I can do about it except support him and hope for the best.

You both make fair points. Notwithstanding your success, this is pretty remarkable, and an approach I doubt many if any other clubs would be capable of replicating:

I don’t think it’s a huge issue but it is interesting that with so much money spent on defenders, it remains a chink in City’s otherwise flawless armour. Yes you needed to make defensive signings but for the outlay I think it’s fair to say more was expected from some of them.
We ask more of our defenders than any club imo. We play a high line without the protection of defensive midfielders. We're always going to be vulnerable in defence, no matter who we have playing there.

As someone who values defending and loves a clean sheet I find it frustrating but that's what you're going to get with a Guardiola side.

Our goals conceded and clean sheet stats are among the best in the league over the past five years fwiw. Although I think we saw last year that despite Edersin winning the golden globe there were too many poor defensive performances that cost us points. So far this season is heading along the same path.

Then why bother spending money on defenders? Why not just go with what you've got? Seems like no matter who you play there won't do well so why waste the money?

I reckon they could spend another 200m on defenders this window and there would still be some who would say why would you not want to spend money improving your squad - all clubs do it.
If it results in more titles, more cups, more qualification for champions League I hope we do.

Because with worse defenders we'll concede more goals and lose more games.

What a weird stance.

What stance? I just asked a question based on your premise.

Are you buying better defenders if you're turning them over every 12 months?

We're not turning them over every 12 months.
