Surely upgrading that bar fridge masquerading is a defender is of higher priority?

United's defence have been abysmal this season but the whole team look short of match sharpness at the moment. When they **** up it gets blown way out proportion but the defensive record was fine last season and probably will be again. The options aren't good enough for a title challenge but are adequate enough for where the club is right now.

I can't say the same about the attacking options. Daniel James & Ighalo would not start at any other premier league club. Doubt Mata or Lingard would either. Obviously Ole feels the same as there is little to no rotation of the front three when everyone is fit.

You're talking about a defence that has one of the best records in Europe over the last 12 months.

We have no true RW, our current back up striker leaves on January 1st. A striker and a RW is a huge priority. LB as well for Shaw. A CB will be in January or next season.

That’s not true. He’s got a respiratory illness but he’s tested COVID- negative. Same as Roman Bürki

Interesting that he also said he was sick to force a move from City to Dortmund.

And yes, the whole bid thing isn't true. United know what Dortmund want.

Good business getting 10m for him thought we would need to just give him away.

Yeah I thought that might have been the case too. And would have been happy to clear the 100k wage off the books too. So I’ll take the 10m

Because we want to improve our squad.

Our defenders pre Pep were Clichy, Kolarov, Delph, Mangala, Demichelis, Kompany, Zabalate, Sagna.

How many defensive signings would you expect us to have made in the five years since?

You both make fair points. Notwithstanding your success, this is pretty remarkable, and an approach I doubt many if any other clubs would be capable of replicating:

I don’t think it’s a huge issue but it is interesting that with so much money spent on defenders, it remains a chink in City’s otherwise flawless armour. Yes you needed to make defensive signings but for the outlay I think it’s fair to say more was expected from some of them.

Wheres Slabhead on that list? Also disturbing to see sideshow bob so high on that list.

James Ducker] Manchester United bid for Alex Telles £6m short of Porto's price as stand-off continues

Psg swooping in on free transfer shortening IMO

Probably cause ole is a high school teacher.

The are defending with two players too often

Even the LCFC game last season matic was in no man's land consistently
