Hi guys,

Still a way off but just wondering if anyone can tell me the best form of public transport to get from Surfers Paradise to Brisbane for the game in April? Back in August we drove up but for this trip we are thinking we may not, so we can have a few quiet ones.

Has anyone any idea how long it would take via train/bus or is it just not worth the hassle?

Cheers :thumbsu:

you catch a bus to pacific fair

then catch any bus that go's to robina station

then catch a train from there to brisbane which takes about an hour

get of at roma street station if its a nice night for walking

if not get of at one of the earlier stops.ask someone at robina which one to get of at because i forgot

or if there are other people going to the footy get of at the same stop as them

and make sure you have your game ticket with you before hand because that counts as your train ticket as well

getting back from brisbane to surfers is a real pain in the arse though because i think the last bus at robina is about 11:30

otherwise you will have to try and find a cab

also ideally you will want to leave pretty early say about 3pm that way theres plenty of time to allow to wait for buses and trains in cases anything happens and so on

and if everything go's to plan you will have plenty of time to walk around brisbane which is beautiful

bus to robina station, get off at southbank station, 20-25 minute walk (you can see the Gabba most of the way which will guide you in the right direction). :thumbsu:

There are plenty of free buses from the Southbank busway (across the road from the train station) that go directly to the Gabba.

Translink runs from Surfers Paradise to Nerang Rail regularly. Trains every half hour. Check at www.translink.com.au

Get off at South Bank. Free buses to Gabba. Two minute bus trip with a lady driver.

And swap the uneducated country bumpkins for.... wait... nevermind. ;)

You should run for the Lions Board Mr Dog. Me & Lionshine are living proof that you are wrong:D
