Leon Cameron spoke on ABC Grandstand.

Believes Treloar wants the best deal for Giants and they will do the best deal for the club.

Posturing from Leon but still slightly concerned.

Going to be a long 3 weeks.

So this is going to go down to the last 2 days.

No Suprise Really

Unlikely it will go down to the end especially since they are already talking. Both clubs have other deals they want to do so will want to wrap it up early to concentrate on other deals.
Hine is on the record as saying after greenwood trade last year that clubs have an obligation to get the player once they make an offer. Will most likely be our first round picks 15 and 16 and GWS will give us a pick or player they don't require.

??? Our pick will be 7 (pushed back to 9?).

GWS coach Leon Cameron has told ABC Grandstand that Adam Treloar is no certainty to join Collingwood and the Giants will trade in best interest of the club not the player.
The Giants are interested in Draft Picks not mature players.

Haha whatever, leon cameron talks tough now but when it comes down to losing him for nothing (PSD) they will trade him to us to whats fair for both clubs.

The key thing is, is for treloar and collingwood to stay strong through the negotiations.
He is out of contract, wants to move back to victoria.

Our 2016 first round pick and 2 2015 second round picks ( freeman and seedsman trades, and we currently hav our own pick as well ) will get the job done.

Then why did Treloar choose us and not give a Few Clubs?

Does not line up with his Comments.

Players would hate GWS IF they do that.

Cameron said before Treloar left he was saying he would stay.

How much does Cameron have to do with Trade Negations

One thing to note too at this time of year is that in most clubs is that the coaches are not usually directly involved in discussions. They'd know what is going on but it would be the list managers who decide what the list needs and negotiate the deals with opposition clubs. Coaches pretty much become mouthpieces for the club delivering the company message. It's usually when you listen to the list managers you get more info on where things sit.

Also reading Leon Cameron's comments it looks like GWS have a similar message to us last year with Beams. My gut feel is the trade will wind up being one of three possibilities:
1. 2015 & 2016 first rounders for Treloar & change
2. 2015 first rounder & 2016 second rounder
3. A replica of the Beams deal

Not even sure why Cameron feels the need for public posturing at this point. Picks only suits us, and we've already shown a willingness to please them by asking Witts if he was willing to be traded to them when they asked about him.

And the line about satisfying the club and not Adam? Seriously, a player has to agree to a trade. GWS can whinge all they want, but at the end of the day it's in everyone's best interests to get him to the pies.

Not even sure why Buckley feels the need for public posturing at this point. Picks only suits us, and we've already shown a willingness to please them by asking Luenberger if he was willing to be traded to them when they asked about him.

And the line about satisfying the club and not Dayne? Seriously, a player has to agree to a trade. Collingwood can whinge all they want, but at the end of the day it's in everyone's best interests to get him to the Lions.

Couldn't help myself, but that really sounded like comments that were made 12 months ago!

Treloar is worth that.

Will we be like Hawks don't muck around or this goes to the last 24 hours

Copy Cats

I think you may have missed my point? I was having a bit of fun with Apex by twisting his words to read like those of Lions supporters last year.

I'd rather we weren't "those guy's" this year and personally had no issue with Cameron taking that stance. All in good fun though!

Except I'm 99.9% sure we had no interest in Luenberger, and GWS did enquire about Witts.

I'm not disappointed that GWS only wants picks. If it was any other team they would be demanding one of our top 10 players. And then if it was Essendon they'd be demanding Pendlebury. Picks are much easier to come up with.

That goes to show just how much talent GWS has up there.

He was asked.

He answered.

Would take a grand-daddy deal for both Treloar & us if he doesn't land at Westpac Centre.

No mate.

It's just that none of your list, outside your untouchables, would improve us.

We've got 7 crackers in our academy over the next 2 years, we'd rather cultivate them.
