Thanks guys. Is this the first time a mainstream news outlet has placed a date on the trade being done? Ie someone other than SEN

I am pretty sure the 1st Main News Outlet has gone with a Day/Date. Others gone with Close but without a Date.

Micheal Warner is Reliable?

But... but slobbo demanded an investigation!
I grew up reading the Hun, it was quick & easy & they always had more footy stuff to read.

I knew it was a bit LCD, I didn't care. Mike Sheehan was ok, not great.

But fair dinkum bugger me with a fish fork before I'll read that shit again while that human excrement Slobbo is chief football writer.

He's a talentless fanboi with absolutely no objectivity at all.

I wouldn't even let him suck the sweat of either of my testicles.

Robbo is the urinal cake of journalism.

Why would we need to give up a later pick? Treloar is going to be under a lot of pressure to play well from the scale of this deal.

I agree. I certainly rate Treloar, and he IS younger than Dangerfield, but 2 1st rounds plus a second round is a high price.
If we get a second round back, plus a player, then it would be fair IMO. There was talk earlier of Tomlinson. That would be ok. But now the talk is Finlayson. Don't know much abot him. Is he ok?

To be fair he only got the job because he is exactly who you describe above. He is a reflection of the paper.

What organisation lets two job applicants literally fight it out in public at a pub to become Chief morons.

How many times does it have to be said.

You can't trade successive picks in a future draft.

It's certainly a lot to give up... but hey - Treloar is a guaranteed gun. Already played 70 odd games as a 22 year old and has been playing against men since he was like 16.

He'll be a 300 game player at our club. We can't say that about Freeman, and we couldn't even say that is a certainty with Scharenberg. I think we do the deal. If we need to, we trade to get in to the top 10 next year. Our club has had the most 1st round picks of any club in the last 3 years I think (I read that somewhere)... so we can have a year or 2 without getting a top 10. Plus, if we're getting Treloar AND Aish in, that's virtually 2 top 5 picks who just so happen to be ready made players. Add that to Crisp and De Goey last year... We have the best young ruckmen in the league, and Taylor Adams whose a jet. Steele is only 24, too.

I think its worth the sacrifice.

That's recent & indicative of today's clickbait society, they did have genuine football writers in the past. Alf Brown for one.

Articulated beautifully.

GWS has strongly refuted suggestions Treloar’s groin injury was misdiagnosed or that an exit medical examination by the club was not conducted at the end of the season.

Suggestions Richmond was misled several weeks ago into believing it had won the race for Treloar’s signature ahead of the Magpies have also been rejected.

Who are they suggesting mislead Richmond?

GWS? Treloar? KB?

It is our two first rounders for their second rounder
If that's the deal, fine. But the article in the HS says:
"But the Giants are still prepared to trade him to Collingwood in the belief the deal, which will net two first-round picks and a later pick, is better than what Geelong offered for Patrick Dangerfield."

Where are people getting this from? The rumoured deal is two firsts and a late pick, for Treloar, a second, and a steak knives player (possibly Finlayson).

At no stage has anyone in the media suggested we would be giving up two firsts and a second.

There are a number of other articles that don't say that. If we think about it logically no club anywhere ever would do a deal as described in that article.

The HUN is a tabloid and its articles and journalists should be treated as such. The article on Pies trading on The Age website now is much more objective, doesn't slag us off & gives you the warm & fuzzy feeling of basically saying that all of our deals will get done :)

Michael Warner has, the same article that said the deal will be done Monday morning.
I'm not trying to troll or anything. What you said was what the mail was until the latest article just posted on the HS.
Maybe off mark, but so many article/opinions...

That would be outrageous, 2 1sts is already the most expensive deal of all time. I think you misread it.

It said two first rounds and a later pick, not a second rounder.

Though does not make them Wrong though

There is nothing factual in the HUN article that isn't in The Age article though. Neither article says we nor Treloar has done anything wrong, The Age one actually walks through in a bit more detail that the deals will get done but the HUN articles also puts a lot of ambiguous/subjective terminology into inducing outrage against us.

Ok. Good point. So, two firsts and maybe 3rd/4th/5th round.
Still, high price, and as i said, i really do rate him, and let's get it done.
Now, what number does he wear:)
There was really nothing in that article to suggest that the deal wasn't going to be the same as what's been mooted by other media outlets.

Hoping that we get Finlayson as steak knives. He can't be any worse than frikking Gault.

Treloar in a Collingwood Jumper:

You do know that he actually isn't wearing a Collingwood jumper...don't you?

I find your avatar strangely soothing.
