Don't waste the money challenging it.
There is no money spent taking it to the tribunal. Its $5k if you take it to the appeals board. What fee the QC charges is another thing.

You can’t just roll over and take this incredibly poor decision just because you don’t rate the player involved. If the decision is wrong you challenge it whether it’s McEntee or Butters.

I think we probably erred with Jonas first suspension this year, which was questionable too. They’ve got to challenge this one.

So has the AFL admitted, without admitting, that the umpires made a mistake?

reward Jonas with a HTB free, only to suspend him later…. Well played VFL, well played.

It has to be appealed...........not for jonas but the fabric of the game

no sling, no pinning of the arms, no rough conduct

So if intent is not always a factor, and contact can be accidental...

Why would the saints player who knee'd his team mate Owens in the head not be sighted?

Because he played for the same team.

But it was high and accidental so careless right?

Whilst it seems incorrect to suspend a player who accidentally hurt his team mate, accidents happen and we have seen players suspended for accidents before.

So it's ok to concuss your team mate by accident according to the rules.

Kinda makes a mockery of the whole thing.

I'm fairly sure I been in conflict situations including confrontations involving assault rifles and being out numbered in unarmed combat. I appreciate you should never underestimate a conflict situation but that doesn't mean reasonable force goes out the window. When you were over powered by a 40kg lady, what happened? You had to step back? Readjust your angle? Get help? Wait?

There is no way I would have used a taser to bring down a lady with this description. Even kicking her walking frame out from under her would have been reckless.

A nice heavy quilt would have been perfect. Even a wet quilt. Heavy enough to render her immobile and soft and cushy to break her inevitable fall.

Even engaging her so you have her undivided attention and walking her into a safe place, is more logical as she will not only tire but probably clam down in the fresh air.

Pulling the patient off me would result in assault charges for everyone involved. It's illegal to use any sort of restraint in this situation. However, if restraint isn't used, it would result in more assualts/murders

Yeah, but can you bench 130kg? That's the crucial thing here.

If the club doesn’t challenge this, then we stand to let VFL s**t all over us whenever they feel like it.

Did that sniper Van Rooyen cop anything for his punch on Finlayson?

Van Rooyon was also very "clumsy" several other times with spoils and contests

I can see why the MRO looked at the spoil the week prior closely

He did a good old-fashioned coat-hanger on the Suns player and they nearly apologised to him for the initial sanction.

Watching Viney go in on Houston Keane on Haaland style (not to mention the high hit on JHF and smashing Boak's ribs) convinces me different rules apply to Melbourne players.

pathetic from the footy club.
I have seen a reverse angle shot from the opposite side to where the umpire was. The tackle looked very dangerous from there. Can understand why this charge was accepted. I’ll see if I can find it. Twitter maybe.

There is a cost for an unsuccessful challenge and it come out of the soft cap. The legal team that represents the players don’t charge the club or player- even the KC.
