Personally I think too much is being made of ES's Flemington record.
2/3 were in the Auries Star over 1200m,hardly suitable.
If he'd failed 3x at 1600m+,I could understand it.
Having said that, this race over the last decade is usually won by a horse that can settle no worse than midfield.

my tips -

like the 2yo's in the first, i'm unproven on the site, so looking to stake a claim tomorrow.

R1. exact same thoughts as lockyer. saw 6's first trial and looked very handy. heard williams on 927 this morning and he said he was looking for the 2yo (No.12) to step up today, so i'm happy with them two.

R2. happy to go with the leading stakes earner in murjana. a watch on gravitron for me.

R3. good form behind gold edition is good enough for me in this race, so i'm going with husson lightning. i like pit lane too, so there's the quinella.

R4. light vision to stand from cefalu, with place chances to red lord and the fuzz. i can't really see light vision losing, but go cef.

R5. tears i cry was huge at the valley. has shown can win from on pace or off it, so happy to go here. sunburnt lad is the danger. skiddaw peak my 3rd selection.

R6. i'm a maslins beach fan and i've no reason to jump off just yet. annenkov franked the underwood form going down in class, and i've a feeling she'll do the same. my only hope has been unlucky, so putting her in the minors. vormista an obvious danger, and dyna myta is running well.

R7. real tough. going with absolut glam, who should have beat catalan bay last start. 5,6,7,8 to fight out the minors.

R8. i reckon efficient will knock them all off. good weight swing, extra distance, plum barrier. haradasun to continue his terrific record to finish 2nd. eskimo queen, el segundo and zipping next. marasco to spell after this. :D

R9. here de angels to bounce back to the winners circle here. swick, shadoways, keltah and miss judgement next best.

R10. going with okay oky. no real reason apart from he's a favorite of mine. one more chance. amyjaye power, family guy, permaiscuous the challengers.

good luck to me. hope there's some respect for me come sunday morning.

My selections at this stage are:

Race 1: Exceedingly Good has the trial form.
Race 2: Down Under Boy with a big run from Husonic EW.
Race 3: Confidence Reef EW.
Race 4: Red Lord has placed at this distance and ran a strong race behind Master O'Reilly at this track two starts back. Worked home well last start and looks like could be wanting this distance.
Race 5: Tears I Cry impressive at MV last start and winning form is good form.
Race 6: Pantenny has won twice from 3 starts over 1400. EW.
Race 7: El Daana has ran home well 2 starts this prep. Back to own sex and step up in distance should both suit.
Race 8: I think Eskimo Queen can give it a real shake on her way to the cups. Marasco to run a big race as well.
Race 9: Here De Angels really tired in the last 100 last start. 1200m will suit it.
Race 10: Amyjaye Power to be in the finish

your all tipping skiddaw peak...he beat art house at seymour by a head, tears i cry came out and flogged him at the valley...whats wrong with tears i cry??

Edging out Art House is no mean feet, he is a very good horse, still a bit green and is learning about racing, has time on his side and should be a group level horse at some stage in the future. Mayfield-Smith is no dummy.

its all bluff.....$1.1 million yearling!! he got rolled by a cheap lacryma cristi horse

he was weak as piss on wednesday at seymour, although i did here mayfield say he had a big opinion on him!! art house might need to get his balls cut out...

Here is a little something for you lads, their will be a star born on Saturday mark my words. Devil Moon. You dont sit 15 wide at the Valley the whole race and still brain them by 2-3, I dont care if your against Tatura level equestrian horses it doesnt happen.

Anyone give it a chance?? Kavanagh is on fire!!

Their is as much chance of Art House having his nuts chopped as their is the pope turning to Allah for guidance

Value your opinion. TIC is not your next Bon Hoffa is it?

I think Skiddaw Peaks form though the likes of Tipingwuti (beaten by 0.3l) the mighty Trick of Light and Blitz Em Riley will hold up though.

Good chat about what I thought was the least interesting race of the day :)

i will actually be backing blahnik after everything i have said on here today!! son of jeune stepping up in distance..

tears i cry isnt in the same category as bon hoffa!!

our horse called spiflicate won a maiden at hamilton in may, the horse that came 2nd was tears i cry!! eversince then TIC has gone ahead in leaps and bounds!! he has completely suprised me, whereas you could see all along, that bon hoffa was a freak..

IAS have Efficient $5.5 & Marasco $7????
As promising as he is,I never thought Id see that in a 2000m Gp1.
Thats short enough based on 1 decent sectional.
You'd think Marasco ran last at Caulfield the way the punters have dropped off

if they told you, marasco would be $7 after winning the makybe diva stakes, when beating apache cat, people would have laughed in your face

I also think it is the one being overlooked Tige.
She is a serious horse, & has finally drawn a barrier.
In it up to her ears.

Righto all, I'm prepared to eat humble pie, though HARADASUN is a spud. It just can't get the job done and that will continue. Vasil keeps blaming the barrier, but we all know if the stupid thing was good enough it would win anyway.

Anyway for the rest of the day, I will be unloading my savings on Pins on Parade....a very good horse.

Riva Sun is one too watch, however that is a tough race as most are.

Bay Story will win on the weeekend and its cups price will be slashed so do yourself a favour and back it for the Cup now.

Marasco will win the big one....everybody jumped off when they should be getting on. It and Miss Finland struggled last start after belting each other up, Marasco will get out wide with the best jockey in Australia on board (Rodd) and roll them. If Miss Finland was in theis race it would be favourite and Marasco's run wasnt much worse than its.

It beat Apache Cat head to head over the mile and we all know that it loves the 2000m. A very versatile and worthey winner!!!

And shadowways the sentimental favourite (echuca horse), now this is pretty contradictory from what I said about haradasun....however the wide barrier will really help it swoop home, the obvious danger is swick which hopefully will get held up for a run and we'll see shadowayas swooping home.

Anyway some big statements there, but thats what bigfooty is for. Good luck to all!!!

Marasco will need pace, like all the backmarkers & probably wont get it.
If he does & they ride him back,I know which one Id prefer to be on.

my selections

race 1- siennas fury, bred to fly this one, by general nediym out of a mookta mare

race 2-cadejos, on track for the derby so the step up in distance is ideal, it just has to get a run now

race 3- on the warpath, very impressed with his 1st run in victoria, should be improved from that outing.

*best bet* race 4- the fuzz, crying out for the further distance, should get all the favours, get on.

race 5- blahnik, stepping up 300m in distance, being a jeune, he should appreciate it, barrier is only concern

race 6- hidden strings- comes in well at the weights getting on the minimum, garunteed to push foward to be hard to catch, safe each way bet

race 7- perfect persuasion- well bred, eye catching run last start. dour type who will want the mile. barrier is a concern but got the ollie on board.

race 8- molotov- i can see him popping up at odds tomorow, if rubiscent can beat the guns, i cant see why this fella wont be competitive, has a good weight and gate, top e.w chance

race 9- cocinero- always seems to run well this time of year in the sprint races. good each way chance at odds.

race 10- amyjaye power, the place only..haha

My tips for a massive day at headquarters.

This evenings rain/shower activity should not affect the track, however any more may move it towards a Dead (5)

Race 1 - Exceedingly Good. Will be short but the breeding is impeccable.
Race 2 - Moment of Truth. Up in class and weight but can make it 3 on the trot.
Race 3 - Pins on Parade. Will win
Race 4 - Dolphin Jo. Happy to pot Light Vision. The run behind Douro Valley & Maldavian was exceptional.
Race 5 - Stamen. In the paper @ 50's but will be running on well.
Race 6 - Like it is. Will be better for the run and if repeats form of earlier this year will go close. 7 placings from 9 starts speaks for itself.
Race 7 - Sleek Chassis. Will break its duck this prep.
Race 8 - Efficient. In a super race would love to see him salute.
Race 9 - Miss Judgement. Up in class but can continue winning run.
Race 10 - Caprizzi Strip. Will give a bold showing at juicy odds, especially if rain continues.

Good punting lads!!!

Racing Double- Light Vision 3.20 into Swick 5 @ 16

All up-
R3 Pit Lane e/w
R4 Light Vision p
R6 Vormista p
R7 Jestatune p
R8 El Segundo p
R9 Swick p

Good Luck all :thumbsu:

Here are my tips for tommorrow

Race 1- Exceedingly Good (trialled well, but a very tough race to start the day, Happy Genes and Starfish dangers)

Race 2- Bammagera (hit the line well last start at Bendigo and the extra 200m wont hurt)

Race 3- Pins on Parade

Race 4- Dolphin Jo (Light Vision the one to beat)

Race 5- Red For Lou

Race 6- Maslins Beach (Vormista hard to beat)

Race 7- Jestajune (Ran home well last start and extra distance will suit, drawn perfectly)

Race 8- El Segundo (Also like Cinque Cento who has been looking for further)

Race 9- Monet Rules/Here De Angels/Cocinero

Race 10- Okay Oky

Better pop over to Starz's thread & snap up the $40 BB

seth

I tend to avoid those types of threads if I can help it.
Couldn't be bothered going into the discussion regarding the complete lack of pace in the race & how backmarkers will be disadvantaged....etc.
Let alone how the track will play, Surely I wasn't the only one to go to the re-opening day. ;)

What odds would Desert War have been in this?
I just want to be on something that will be thereabouts in the race.

Scratchings are through and will cause some market moves, especially in the first and last race.

Race 1 12 - PACHANGA
Race 2 17 - CADEJOS, 18 - TAKE THE CASH, 19 - WHITE PHOSPHORUS, 20 - HARGITAY
Race 3 Nil
Race 4 11 - BLING BLING, 18 - SCHUMPETER
Race 5 Nil
Race 6 13 - DIRTY DENIM, 18 - GAME SERENA
Race 7 7 - BEL MER, 11 - LI'L ORPEN ANNIE, 16 - BIRD OF FIRE, 20 - CLUNY
Race 8 Nil
Race 9 5 - MONET RULES
Race 10 5 - ROMAN SQUIRE, 14 - SHAG ON A ROCK, 15 - GOONEE

Track rated as Dead and looking at the radar, it wont get any worse. May see the odd brief shower but nothing substantial

my tips for the day - gunna be a good day, i am going to back some winners no doubt.

Race 1- No. 2 Brunello- have to back MJ Ellerton horses down the straight in these types of races
Race 2- No.1 Down Under Boy
Race 3- No.3 Pit Lane - should possy up nicely and should give pins on parade a majorly tough time of catching it down
Race 4- No.4 Sentire- for some reason i believe he can run a race today - will get a good run today from barrier 2
Race 5- No.5 Danever- had an average start to his campaign but now he is getting to his preferred distance- look for him to be steaming home
Race 6- No. 9- Bellini Rose - this thing flies and if they are coming from the rear/out wide in the first few races - back her
Race 7- No. 5 - Bantry Bay
Race 8- No.5 Haradasun- class horse- better than el segundo and trust damien oliver to get it sitting pretty in the run
Race 9 - No. 4- Here De Angels and No. 6 -Shadoways- these 2 i can't split but i don't see any other horse winning the race, swick usually runs well but never wins. i would back shadoways at odds.
Race 10- No.11 - Oky Okay- there is going to be tremendous speed in the race with Permaiscuous, Bianomour and Caprizzi Strip all likely to smoke it up in front, this will leave the race to a swooper and Okay Oky is the best of the swoopers.

Best Bet: Race 9- NO.4 AND 6 - BACK THEM BOTH FOR THE WIN
Best Value Bet: Race 6- no.9 Bellini Rose

good luck people
