Ash vs Evil Dead is fantastic.
I love the Evil Dead movies but my first reaction to the TV show being announced was that it was a cash in but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's made with so much love and reverence to the movies.
Bruce Campbell is evergreen.

yep, i am a fan of it, a great distraction from everyday life, but a big call Milux i would go Breaking Bad for the best show ever title that i have seen. also loved season 1 of True Detective, House of Cards and liked most of Dexter although it had a couple of not so good seasons. The Fall is great as well but i have only watched the first season so far.
movies lately have been shite, have gone off them and getting into the series although it is hard to find a good one have watched some of a few eg. Jericho, Homeland, The Good Wife, Falling Skies, Lost, Revolution, and couldn't get into them. Fear The Walking Dead the jury still out with me.
any recommendations? have been told Narcos, The Wire, Game of Thrones are great.

First four seasons of The West Wing and seasons 3-10 of The Simpsons are the best shows ever. Come at me!!!!!!!
Repeating myself but the first season of Mr Robot blew me away. Just started watching Westworld and as others have said I think it has great potential. It is more than just a western version of Spartacus.
The Tunnel also has very interesting characters.
Repeating myself, The Leftovers! The opposite of Mr Robot. Season 1 was decent TV and Season 2 "blew me away".

I found the first episode of season 7 cheap and abhorrent. It made me stop watching the whole show as I think it has become far too dumb and cyclical. I also feel like a chump for watching for so long.
My new favourite show is Midnight Diner/Shinya Shokudō. Season 4 airs on Netflix as 'season 1'. There are 3 seasons prior that are in Japanese only but I managed to find English subtitles. Aww yeah.

Like many things, it will depend who you speak to. You're the first person I've come across who liked that first ep.
Yep definitely polarizing. Actual episode was grim and compelling, wouldn't say I liked it. What I didn't like was the whole promotion based around "see who gets bludgeoned to death in this episode" and the fact that it was dragged out from last season.
Also brutal in the way it was done in the comic book, but it just happened and the story moved on (and it's a good story too, worth sticking around for). Maybe its the medium of TV and live action that makes it worse, similar to THAT Sansa scene in GOT.

I've never watched an episode of it (utterly bored by the Zombie media saturation), but my Twitter feed was pretty filled by people who seemed a bit miffed about that episode. Was enough to compel me to seek out the AV Club review to see what the fuss was about.

Must admit my partial bias (ok, extreme bias) towards the show. It recorded its second highest ratings for the season 7 opener. I can see how people get 'bored' of it. But really think they have throwen some seeminly immovable objects in front while brutally killing off one of the 'untouchables' has reinvented the show. On glen (the untouchable). Been in the show since episode one. Became a highly productive and influential member of the crew it seemed impossible to kill him off. But this felt an appropriate way for him to go as it had to be someone important. New characters and a long way to go before rick assumes mantle as 'head honcho' again. Looking forward to the rest of it.

Is it necessary or advisable to watch it from the 2011 stuff onwards? Or can I just start with the newly released stuff. Cast looks amazing.
