If his drink was spiked how do we know it wasn’t a banned substance and on the WADA list?

I don’t think they can use this as a cop out without opening up a can of worms?

My guess is he fell and tripped over one of the many rubber head bands all the w***ers use in Geelong and got whiplash…

Joel Smith should have tried this excuse last year

Not according to the HUN..

The Cats landed back in Melbourne late on Saturday and Stengle then hit the town in Geelong.
It’s understood he was not out partying with any teammates.
Stengle is a regular at Geelong’s nightspots and it’s also understood he was recently refused entry due to being heavily intoxicated.
That led to Stengle engaging in a minor argument with the nightclub’s security guards.

Probably this time lol

Oops sorry. Mental health

When they go so hard on “mental health” this early it’s clearly what you think it is
Someone who's had issues in the distant pass having a lapse? Don't think the club cited 'mental health' anyway except because they knew a bunch of plonkers would try to pile on him in the aftermath - that's where his 'mental health' comes into it.

You do understand that when they refer to 'mental health' in this context, it's his mental health after having an embarrassing situation made public and people commenting endlessly about it, right?

Or to avoid scrutiny.

Honestly seems like the media is scared to report badly on indigenous players. Why? Probably be called racists....
The media rarely reports 'badly' on anyone with health issues.

I know Australia's a really conservative society, but drug and alcohol addictions really are health issues, not moral failings like the government would have you believe.

I must have dreamt about Clayton Oliver being in the news

Maybe being out of the bubble it didn't pop up for me, but I didn't see him being in the news for drugs. It was rumoured a lot, and was an open secret of sorts, but don't recall it being openly discussed in the media.

There should be more sensitivity around substance abuse for Indigenous players because of the negative environment that many of them have sadly had to grow up in. Doesn't make it okay, but there may be extra challenges they've had to face that the average middle class person hasn't, that helps lead to this outcome. And as others have said above, this is a health issue, not a moral one.

Drink could have gotten spiked?
Suggest he likely spiked it himself, why would someone waste good GHB on Tyson Stengle?

Not easy to drink yourself into a critical condition requiring an ambulance in a few hours in a pub either, particularly if you go out a bit and know how to drink, it’s almost impossible.
