It's gunna need Ziebell hooper gavin and sidebottom to really lead the way . They are suspect in the ruck with lowden comming off injury (stress fractures) so he will be lucky to get through the week just on fitness let alone a suspect back vardy is not a ruckman, he's good player but not a real ruckman . the forwards are really going to have to improve thya have given nothing so far all look very timid at the footy for mine . Thompson looks ok at times but has to grab the moment and fire as does cunnington who hasnt played well yet. Priest needs to find confidence and i think he will be a key if he gets up and running again because he's as good as it gets when firing .playing his own age group should give him confidence and his last game he started to show the old form . Pianto looks like he's ready to have a good one to and they will need him to stop a couple . Blokes like tutton oakley ellis tiller will have to have a real crack and do thier bit and not leave it up to the others seize the moment !!.
Rounds looks a goer page can be clever and giampolo looks good at times but doesnt give it off much.
i wonder who will come in I'd be putting knott back in for bundy .
Gavin will have a good carnival lots to like about him.

APS season is actually 11 rounds of football, with no byes. The APS competition is not actually very good as 11 rounds is not nearly enough football nowdays however the standard of the APS competition is supurb thus making it the best football competition in Australia.

Unfortunately these are not up to date. Squads have been finalised at 25 therefore 5 of these boys from each team have been cut. Vic M is still a little unsure due to a few injured boys who are required to play games this weekend to prove their fitness otherwise they will be cut and the emergencies plus a newie at training the other night may be brought in.
 
with the championships coming up next week there will be some standouts and suprise packets for each side. Zieball, Hooper and Sidebottom are set to have a huge carnival while i think Cunnington, Lowden and Page could be the suprise packets for the country. Cunnington with his versitility, Lowden up forward and in the ruck and Page with his run through the middle. What is everyone elses thoughts on the upcoming carnival?

i think metro will be stronger than country at this stage and who knows what the sa and wa sides will be like. Country have to many guns out so will rely to much on ziebell hooper sidebottom etc the key position players for country will have to stand up big time it's gonna be the makeing of some who can take the bull by the horns. Thompson looks good in patches as does stephens and hopefully they will just attack the opportunity and have a good carnival ,tiller is a great athelete and given he has had a bad run with injuries and selection he really needs to make a statement this carnival he's gotta get tough . Cunnington has given little so far but looks a player given an opportunity to run .Vardy will be interesting where they play him when he is not helping out in the ruck a good footballer who will show some class.Lowden is the big key if he can stand up and take a few grabs and get around a bit he will be hard to stop but there are some big boys who will be against him and if he goes down there in big trouble . Ziebell looks like getting played down back so he will really have to do a lot as will the onballers like hooper ,gavin ,rounds,priest ,giampolo ,and knott .
Metro have bigger bodies in the guts with blease gysberts and scully and hood with pace and the ruckmen. bartlett and Pianto will have to be strong down back and take a few of the quick forwards out .Metro have better class all over with bigger types down back in Witkowski talia cachia purcell along with acomplished ruckmen fitzpatrick and castricum and up forwards miller scully resting ,hood when up forward they just look to have better players at the minute.A shame watts isnt playing

Agree if Lowden got injured their next tallest player would be 193cm so he will be a key player.

Actually, Wallace is back in the team due to Watt's injury also another has been added due to a last minute injury at training on Wednesday night. Don't no if it is walsh or who - but wallace is a definate starter.

Well there wernt to many standouts for country Sidebottom best player,vardy had a good carnival and had to do a lot of work his last game was very good . Ziebell battled hard and got a knock in the first game when they put him in the center he really won it for them and his last game was good he's a good player, Curran was good down back paticualy in the last game. Hooper was ok and worked hard
the dissapointments were many rounds was found out a bit just needs to sharpen up a bit found the pace a bit much ,priest was unsighted but ok in patches against WA who are a very good side and i think has just lost confidence he needs to play a bit more age footy and get back to his best.Tutton was nothing tiller needs more agression when playing the footy good athelete just needs to be tough . the metro boys were alot slicker and used the ball better but hey it's all about development and i am sure if country had of had the likes of butcher mckenzie 2 big blokes hutchison an excellent on baller christensen on baller it might have all been a little different but thats footy .

Back injury at training, also missed the 2nd game and could hardly jog in the 3rd let alone get arms up high.

Sidebottom was clearly best for country and has a great future.

I thought Hooper was next best.

Ziebell was concussed in the first game and was very brave for the rest of the carnival and led well.

Scully and No 2 for WA were outstanding, and derserved winners of the Kevin Sheehan medal.

Taylor veal is a freak show, wouldnt be suprised if he averages 45 disposals a game. prob best looking player in the comp. Also unlucky not to be selected were brannelly, bianchin, milner and berryman. All probably missed due to injury
