And he’s still only 23.

The difference maker he was. Havertz again excellent. Cracking finish that I’d love to see more from him. Martinelli seems to have responded very well to having his place questioned, we cause a lot of damage at that back post with the quality of Saka’s delivery.

Nothing is easy hey. Thought last week against Leicester and here again today, that these should be more “comfortable” victories. But it’s never that easy. The margins are so fine. 3 points are just essential and once again they found a way which is the most important thing.

Havertz not with the German squad due to a knee problem, and Partey withdrawn from Ghana’s fixtures due to illness. Neither expected to be majorly serious and I wonder if this is a case of Arsenal leveraging their relationships with the national associations to hold them back from this break. For some reason it’s always seemed Arsenal have an excellent relationship with the German national set up (I remember they conducted Ozil’s medical on behalf of the club on deadline day 2013).

Anyway, this is good to see given what happened the last break with Odegaard for example. Partey has played almost a career high number of minutes for club and country recently. And Havertz is almost irreplaceable at the moment, his game has evolved to such a state that it’s hard to envisage Arsenal functioning as well as we have without him. Never thought I’d say that before. 12 months ago he was given that “charity” penalty to kick start his goal tally. Fast forward to now and he’s the man along with Saka that make it happen for Arsenal.
