Maybe you could be optimistic if he agrees to see the positives we see in Shez :D

Yeah but you think that the sun shines out of Micah Richard's arse!

As for Shez, well, he's only got one keeper behind him in the EPL and that's Kenny: even that's debatable!

Goalkeepers are supposed to narrow the angles so it's much, much harder for the opposition to hit the target. Szczesny back peddles and opens up the angles.

Have a look at the last 2 games of the year as a snap shot of the bloke that gives you a hard on and don't worry so much about his disgraceful footwork/stance when conceding Norwich's second goal, have a look at the third goal and both WBA's goals. He backs away(backpeddles) and invites the opposition to pick their spot!!! He is a joke of a 'keeper!!! Look at other 'keepers and see what they do in those situations and compare them to our bloke.

He big notes himself on social media; he passes judgement on other teams/players; talks about his own team mates like he is some elite player whose judgement is sacrosanct and for the people who don't see Arsenal play week in and week out, they are conned into thinking that he's some type of top player because of his big mouth.

It also seems that people who support Arsenal get sucked in by Szczesny. How else can one explain the admiration he gets from fans considering he can't kick and gives the ball away more often than not. Arsenal are known for not giving the ball away yet our 'keeper hands it back to the opposition on a plate! He has no positional sense. He still panics and hyperventilates. his positioning at free kicks and corners borders on the embarrassing.

Open your eyes lads. The League Cup Final against Birmingham is what we get from Szczesny on all to regular a basis but some of you blokes become breathless when he makes a reflex save or pulls off a regulation save.

This is my last rant about our 'keeper. I'm sick of trying to point out what good keeping is and what bad keeping is to those people like you Cruyffy because no matter what argument I mount, no matter how many facts and how many examples I produce to back up my argument that Szczesny is a very average goalkeeper at best, all some of you do is dismiss it out of hand and exhibit the classic cult of personality worship.

Good luck to you but more importantly, good luck to my team Arsenal because we are going to need all the luck in the world to win anything with Szczesny in our line up: we wont be lucky enough to have a Fulop on the opposing side every week.

I see the points you make NA, and I do agree he does need to do things better, and still needs some polishing. However, you fail to see where the rest of us come from. Not many goalkeepers are world class at a young age. You cannot say I am one eyed then not see it where we are coming from.

NA vs Latro round 2 seems to be coming around faster than I thought ;)

Yep relying on painkillers to get you through games isn't exactly ideal. Whilst he did make some blunders through the year, he's also had some immense games where without him we would've been stuffed (eg the Liverpool game at anfield, RvP quite rightly got the plaudits for the cracking winner but the reason the scores were level were due to a string of saves from the shezz including a penalty)

But the lack of any decent competition for the starting GK berth is not a good thing for arsenal. That's probably why wenger kept playing him for the last few games despite his injury

As moronic as usual.

Again you show how intelligent you are at mounting an argument: "Duhh, you are moronic". Next step the United Nations for you.

He has had a shoulder injury says Cruyff14 so as to back up his argument that I am being to harsh but you, "Duhh, you're an idiot, Duhh".

Shoulder injury or no shoulder injury, that is no excuse for his woeful positioning and his complete lack of knowing his angles. It does not compensate or offer any excuse for his useless distribution.

I am only pointing out Szczesny's profound limitations as a goalkeeper but the fault lies with Wenger for not getting a goalkeeper that befits Arsenal's status as a great club.

Every player puts his hand up to play, there'd be something really wrong if they didn't and Szczesney is no different. It is Wenger who is at fault for not having another 'keeper and continually playing Szczesny who is not up to EPL standard.

He may well be one day but the EPL is not a place for goalkeepers to learn their trade. For **** 's sake, can't you get it through your head, this is the most elite league competition in the world and in order to succeed in it you need elite players, not players trying to become elite.

By the way, if you have some notion that I may be anti Szczesny because of his ethnic background, I started my football career as an under 12 at a club that was set up by Polish migrants and have been a life long member and coached at this club. We have produced Australian internationals and players that have graced the elite competitions throughout Europe and the National Leagues here in Australia. We have even produced a player who played for the Arsenal and current A-League players and coaches.

Poland has a long and proud history of producing wonderful goalkeepers and Szczesny, unfortunately, is not amongst them currently, in fact, he is a long, long way away from being at this level.

You may not like it Latro but them's the facts.

I didn't say he had a shoulder injury at all.

And nobody mentioned anything about racism.

I apologise to you Cruyff14. I was sure you mentioned that he'd had a bad shoulder but I was mistaken. The point however was to Latro that at least you put forward an argument that wasn't based on abuse.

As for racism, I only mentioned the fact that I have been involved with the Polish community for many, many years and that my dislike for Szczesney is based entirely on his goalkeeping prowess and not on any ethnic lines what so ever.

I felt compelled to mention my involvement with this community because some of the vitriolic defence of our goalkeeper made me feel as if some of you, especially Latro, may have been thinking that I had taken a set against Szczesney 'cause of his ethnicity; such has been the castigation I've copped.

Apologies once again Cruyff14 for saying it was you that said he had the shoulder injury but I don't think I misrepresented you by suggesting that you at least put forward an argument based on the bloke's play instead of throwing your skirt up over your head and running around hysterically.

Whilst I disagree with the second point Northa (IMO the schezz is EPL standard) I agree with the first part in that wenger needs to shoulder some blame. For too long he persisted with almunia whereby we really needed to buy a quality keeper 2-3 years ago. Hell we even made a desperate attempt at schwarzer during a January transfer window a year or two back but since then the schezz has emerged.

We need depth. Some decent cover for him is essential, what if he's injured? Mannone will likely go an almunia already released.

I don't think Latro was implying you were being racist toward Shez tbh either.

I have conceded several times that I agree with some of your points, what more do you want me to say? We should get him a new brain? We should clone Casillas?

yes mate im all too familiar with wenger's lies, however i just had the feeling that this summer would be different. things like the early signing of podolski, heavily linked with other players such as m'vila (however that's gone quiet of late), release of players (eg almunia) etc all are indicators that perhaps this time around we've got a more aggressive, proactive approach.

still a week until the euros start but given RvP is in the dutch camp and a major tournament about to commence, you'd think its unlikely we'd have a decision on his arsenal future until after the tournament finishes. anyway time will tell.

Booked my trip to Europe today, will hopefully be catching a match at The Emirates when I'm over there.

One of the best experiences of my life - went and saw our 3-0 win over Bolton when RVP got his 100th EPL goal. Amazing atmosphere, and great game - bring your singing voice.
