From what I've read, seeing as I haven't really watched Khedira or Bender play, that they're more box to box midfielders. Do we really need a player like that? I'd prefer someone more defensively minded, but I have no idea who.

Schneiderlin.

I haven't watched him game-to-game but he bossed us at St Mary's in January.

I think the fans are just caught up with the names and not what we actually need.

Schneiderlin would be a great fit for what we need. At half the cost as well. He does seem like he's on the way out, his comments a few days ago about Southampton selling all their best players was almost a 'get me out of here' ploy. Would be rapt if we signed him.

Khedira's profile is probably larger than it should be because he is a Real Madrid footballer. Although he would be a 'big signing' I don't believe he would fit the bill as well as Bender or Schneiderlin wojld.

Yes should've been clearer, was referring to his wage demands. Around £15m as a fee is what I read, but who knows in today's market.

Here's a statistical analysis because I'm bored ...

A couple of days too late here, but the thing I love about the Sanchez signing is not only does he have a plethora of tricks and dribbles but he also does the simple things very well.

A case in point is always following in of a goalkeeper parry to put the simple tap ins. We haven't had someone like that since Pires.

For evidence of this, see the second half of this YT clip:
