Too hard to compare players from different era's however what I will say about Henry was he a pure entertainer which I think the game lacks at the moment. He was the type of player who would score plenty of goals but got just as much enjoyment our of terrorising opposition defenders. If he were still at his peak these days I'm certain he would be able to score 40+ premier league goals plus provide 20 odd assist.

Yeah he'd be certain to score 40 and assist 20! Something Ronaldo hasn't achieved in any league ever and Messi only once in La Liga where it would be easier to do.

Well lets see. Last season Suarez scored 31 goals and assisted 12 times or 21 times if you use transfermarkts method of counting assist. Now this is despite missing five games and not taking penalties which if memory serves me right Gerrard scored 10 goals from penalties last season. Which considering peak Henry is a better player than Suarez I think it is certainly possible for him to reach such high numbers.

Lets talk about those other two guys you conveniently didn't mention

Now what about Messi and Ronaldo? You know, the ones who were mentioned.

To be fair, if this conversation is about the best strikers ever, then Messi and C. Ronaldo don't enter the conversation, as they aren't strikers.

For me, Henry is by far the best player I've ever seen in a Gunners shirt and he is the reason I barrack for them. He was a brilliant player at his peak. He'd be in the top 10 players I've seen. That is coming off a very short sample size though. I can't fairly say where he rates as I haven't seen players like Pele, Maradona, Van Basten, etc. play. Good players tend to "get better" as time passes after their retirement as their stories get told and articles are written. It's like the small fish that you catch that grows every time you tell the story.

What about them. They play in a completely different league and as such are completely irrelevant. But for what it is worth I don't think either would get those number simply due to Messi becoming somewhat injury prone of late and Ronaldo as the bloke barely passes. But as far as I'm concerned the league is becoming much more free scoring and posting high numbers like 40 goals will be seen more often over the next decade, albeit heavily reliant on scoring penalties to record those numbers not too dissimilar to Ronaldo.

Anyhow my whole point regarding Henry was the he never fully developed his goal scoring ability and that he was an entertainer, which had he developed his goal scoring ability in a similar way to that of Messi and especially Ronaldo then he would be able to post higher numbers.

While those players are all certainly great when you base it off statistics, you obviously have never seen them play in your lifetime.
I was asked to name some better. I did.

Then when I do, another paramater is thrown in to suit your agenda.

I guess Pele isn't better cos I didn't see him play either.

Interesting to see what type of reception Fabregas receives from the Arsenal fans.

He didn't turn his back on the club like Cole, van Persie etc did. And he can't be blamed for ending up at Chelsea, we had the option and refused it. Be interesting to see how this unfolds.
