The initial 400k is what goes on the salary cap (whatever contract he nominated), regardless if you pay him less.

Can't remember how they got away with Ball, but I have a feeling it was something like him putting a large contract on his head for one year, which Collingwood had the cap space for and therefore paid him it. But he said he would only re-sign further if he was with Collingwood, and did so at a reduced price to make up for the large contract they originally paid him.

It's basically draft tampering, but you the AFL isn't going to do anything to Collingwood, in fact Andy D probably congratulated Eddie for them coming up with the plan.

Refused medical examinations with other clubs too so there was the possibility of him not actually being able to play on. Also, didn't they use the main draft not the pre season one?

Yup, teams were more likely to take a risk if it only cost them a PSD pick. They did it well, unfairly, but well.

haha saw the first post and was wondering who out of brown and schofield you didn't consider best 22... who was the fourth key position draftee?? houlihan clearly not (**** he could've been good how many AFL footballers can say their last 6 games all had 20+ disposals ), and i don't remember james thomson. assuming JT was kpp?

is it bad when your 2006 draft still has more players in the best 22 then your entire 2009 draft has just on your list

From Yeo's highlight package that was posted here (which was albeit from 2012), it looked like he had a fair bit of pace and ran through the lines pretty often. What was his 2013 like?

no word of a lie, and i remember posting about it in the game day thread at the time... when we played st kilda this year every time he got the ball and the commentators were saying "maister" i was thinking to myself "**** that guy looks incredibly like beau wilkes"... it took me well over half the game to work out it's the same bloke.

everyone improves their goalkicking against us. its ****ed.

mind you they showed that stat on fox footy tonight which showed we had the best finals goal kicking accuracy over the last six years. 70%. next best was about 62

very unlike us.

but i think we had 38 goals in 5 final or something. which is pretty much pathetic.
