I also post lots of other things. You don’t.

Actually I do. Do a search. Religion, biology, history, politics.
You’re a bore. Take the hint. You are an obsessive bore who seems to have no introspection on how his obsession is perceived.

Ironic coming from you.

You raised the notion of judging flags based on a round robin system. Where does the mental gymnastics end?

Do we disregard premierships won MCG tenants against non-tenants??
I actually raised the notion of judging flags on the basis of the number of teams competing in the season. The round robin point was merely incidental to it. There were four teams competing that year.

Metric divided by years in the comp, for example Adelaide have 2 flags divided by 33 years gives them an average of 0.0606 premierships per year.

Just my opinion but these metrics separate those on equal number of flags with equal time in the competition.

I've edited Fitzroy to 99 years in the comp.

Actually I do.
No you don't. Not on the main board. You've been posting the same thing, and only this thing pretty much on this board for 20 years. I'm not sure why either, given if you havn't changed someone's opinion on your 2001st post, why try on your 2002nd? Just get over it.

Sometimes you just have to let it go. You come across as an obsessive bore. Just take a break from this topic for like a year or something. Your life would improve. Take on board some legitimate constructive criticism, and don't take that criticism personally.

I actually raised the notion of judging flags on the basis of the number of teams competing in the season. The round robin point was merely incidental to it. There were four teams competing that year.

I already did this in another thread. There's been 128 seasons of VFL / AFL and they've been contested by either 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17 or 18 clubs.

I rated them accordingly... A flag won in a season with 4 clubs at 1 point, and a flag won in a season of 18 clubs as 4.5 points:

4 clubs: 1.00 points
6 clubs: 1.50 points
8 clubs: 2.00 points
9 clubs: 2.25 points
10 clubs: 2.50 points
11 clubs: 2.75 points
12 clubs: 3.00 points
14 clubs: 3.50 points
15 clubs: 3.75 points
16 clubs: 4.00 points
17 clubs: 4.25 points
18 clubs: 4.50 points

Points assigned as such, then divided by the number of seasons competed to give a proper ranking:

It’s now tremendously tight between Carlton, Essendon, Collingwood and Richmond.

But the overall messages are clear:

- Hawthorn have been a juggernaut and the most successful club in histoey

- The West Coast and Brisbane - hugely successful expansion clubs

- After that, all the traditional big power clubs

It’s now tremendously tight between Carlton, Essendon, Collingwood and Richmond.

Gold Coast are the most unsuccessful club, with 14 seasons for zero flags. But they’re much harder to win now - if they were to win in 2025, they’d leapfrog about half the clubs on the table.

But the overall messages are clear:

- Hawthorn have been a juggernaut and the most successful club in histoey

- The West Coast and Brisbane - hugely successful expansion clubs

This is exactly the analysis I was kind of envisaging. Thanks!

(ps Freo so bad that they don’t even rate as a club 😂)
