To me it comes across as you have not been trying to do anything in this thread but rile people up for a bit of “banter” as you call it. It has nothing to do with people having different opinions, your debate style is purely to aggravate.

Bud it’s banter.

Ok has it rile up some people yea.

Do I care? No.

Did I intend to rile people before being personally attacked? No

Did the people that attacked me personally for no reason but purely on my beliefs because I support Donald Trump give two fücks before things escalated to what there are now? Also no.

Had people that’s attacked me didn’t attack me personally in the manner that they did. Maybe things might of been different, actually Yeah they probably would.

Elon’s in it so much from himself that he's the only influential person that stood up Labor’s stupid misinformation bill.

Although I will counter by saying Elon does need to clean up the website, far too much pr0n, ads, and other crap on there and "Premium,” as he calls it, or Twitter Blue, as it used to be called, can get in the fücking bin.

Are you opposed to Labor’s thoughts on banning under 16 year olds from socials out of interest?

The Dems are absolute morons. In fact, the entire western centre-centre-left movement across every country are morons.

The Republicans recognise the concerns that working people have and offer solutions. Those solutions are garbage fearmongering that won't help, but they're solutions. When the Dems are basically only offering the fact that they aren't Trump, the message wears thin after 3 elections of the same thing. Everyone voted for Biden because he wasn't Trump and their lives didn't materially improve.

The Dems had the right candidate in Bernie Sanders who would have obliterated Trump's stranglehold on the working class, but they closed ranks to force him out TWICE because they don't actually want policies that help the working class.

All of this would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that Trump will use this term to retire a couple of Supreme Court justices to take supermajority control of the court for a generation or more. America will likely need some civil unrest to fix it.

Yes cause two party politics is far right and centre right.

there ie no left, which makes the "leftist" cries from morons like krispy all the dumber.

You’re not being attacked because of your “beliefs”

You’re getting attacked because you’re behaving like a moron

As the Ragin' Cajun James Carville said in 1992, in The War Room doco - it's the economy stupid.

That's why Trump bounced back so hard. People who don't like him, voted for him, because of the impact of inflation on their lives the last 3 years.

Its pointless telling people the rate of of inflation is currently down on the high points, when the accumulated impact of 3 years of inflation ( and supply side constraints) is that goods and services are 20%, or 30%, or 40% or more expensive than 3 years ago and wages haven't kept up. In other words the increased cost of living.

The Democrats need a Bill Clinton type who understands economic policy and can articulate it to people. Obama didn't need to understand economics as there was a strong anti Bush, anti war, anti bail outs, sentiment and the effects of the GFC hadn't hit home yet during the 2008 campaign. But he deserves credit for getting US thru the longer term effects of the GFC, as that was a deep crisis - but it started a lot of the movement away from the Democrats by their traditional working class base.

The challenge for the Democrats is if they do find another Clinton, is to find someone who actually connects with the workers affected by Clinton's free trade policies, globalisation and general trade liberalisation policies.

Great irony is that Clinton worked with traditional Republicans in Congress who were pro free trade, trade agreements like NAFTA and trade liberalisation via APEC, WTO and giving China favoured nations status, which benefited US economy during his 8 years, but longer term eroded the Democrats working class base. Its hard for Democrats to say to the working class, that what Clinton did 25 to 30 years ago, is good for them today.

The other problem for Democrats is they they want unionised labour to help them deliver the ground game come election time, but after the elections, a big chunk of the elected members to different positions, go and buddy up to wealthy corporate types as they need the big $$$ to fight the next election, so they don't necessarily deliver on their promises to those unionised workers.

Biden made a big effort, first President to join a picket line, one report I saw, said last year. But it was too little too late for many working class voters.

If any of you have for the last few years listened to, and now watched Matt Bevan's podcast series, If You've Been Listening, you will know he has spent a lot of this year looking at US elections and in particular the last month and was in USA for a week leading up to the election.

Yesterday when he was analysing the result and the affect of cost of living inflation, he said the US is an expensive place. He said when he was buying things he noticed the price in USD was basically the same price as they were in AUD in Oz, but the average wage over there is lower in USD in US than it is in AUD in Oz. So given the current exchange rate of about $0.65 that makes things expensive.

That is something new. Whenever I have gone to US, or friends have, they always comment about how cheap things are there compared to Oz, especially manufactured goods. It was wonderful travelling to US in 2011 when 1 AUD bought you $1.11 USD. Its easy to sit here and pontificate the whys and wherefores of what's happening in the US, but if people feel they are worse off than you were 4 years ago, basic human instinct is to want to change things.

Good analysis REH, but instead have you considered that maybe everyone is just racist/misogynist?

The Covid Vaccines were complete horse shit. Anyone with half a brain should recognise this. To base your whole personality around this hill to die on is also ****ing stupid.

Just because they weren’t 100% effective doesn’t mean they were 0% effective. Anyone with half a brain should recognise this.

I get some like Sanders, but there's no way he would have won. The Democrats win elections when they put up candidates considered more moderate. Clinton wasn't from the Left wing of the party, Obama wasn't Left, Biden wasn't.

You can go back half a century. Carter was the last Left and he got in due to Nixon. Up against a credible Republican candidate in Reagan and beaten. Mondale destroyed, Kerry beaten. Dukasis ran into Bush Sr. getting the afterglow of the US supreme as on the cusp of Reagan winning the Cold War. Hillary and Kamala, rightly or wrongly, taken as too far Left. The only one you could reasonably argue as a moderate losing a normal election against a Republican is Gore and that you can always argue, did he really lose?

The Left wing of the Democrats seem too interested in identity / issues, rather than 'It's the economy stupid' that dominates US elections, even more than here. The Democrats, if they want to win in 2028, need a candidate that appeals to the 'soft' Republicans, not scare them off.

Lol. They didn't do ****ing jack shit. Im not one of those people that goes the other way and harp on about it causing cardio issues either, it just was a massive con job. The whole Covid thing was a massive con job. The irony is, the ridiculous inflation caused by this con job is the main reason Trump got elected.

Fulham Gardens Maccas 2pm it’s time for your jab Dr G.

“Leftie propaganda “ “fabricated lies by the liberal elites”

Lost count of the conservative right wingers he’s worked with who’ve backed away afterwards and said he’s batshit crazy.
The conservative right wingers, who, to a person, are all part of the establishment. Funny that.

These terms have become utterly meaningless.

Have they? In what way? The only way I can see is that idiots now call anyone who doesn’t agree with them “leftists” without a single iota of the meaning of left or right wing.

words still have meaning even if idiots don’t understand how to use them.

Why? Because he isn't a mindless sheeple?

Pete Evans and Russell Brand are smart because they don't follow the trends! Wake up sheeple!

Believing in crazy shit that can be objectively disproven as having any basis in reality doesn't make you smart because it's different than 99% of the population. It doesn't mean you're a "free thinker". It means you lack the skills on critical thinking, logic, reason and probably can't even pass a basic science course.

We all want to give Warren the benefit of the doubt because he was a great footballer and aligns with our views on Hinkley. But he's pretty out there.

I reckon they may of...

Covid was real, and I reckon the world may not have dealt with it the best as it was somewhat unprecedented.

I mean does it have to be harder than that?

If you didn't want the jab like Warren or you did, who cares?

Trouble is for me Social Media is so full of right wing nutters everything is a conspiracy, 5g was injected into me etc.

Trump got elected because Biden was too old, Harris hopeless and they got voted out, people wanted change.

It's either to left or to right, humanity just needs to be in the middle, Common ****ing Sense should be the desired outcome, **** it isn't that hard - everything is however driven by Greed, Money, Religion.....

Yeah totally I mean America was a totalitarian state right up until April 2022 when Musk invented free speech.

Australia is a totalitarian state where people can get prosecuted for saying certain things, making certain gestures or displaying certain imagery.

Do the 'certain things' include that new Crows logo ? Yeah, bloody good idea prosecute anyone who displays it. :)

Elon’s in it so much from himself that he's the only influential person that stood up Labor’s stupid misinformation bill.
A Bill that would deliberately slap down on the type of misinformation that Elon has been promoting on Twitter throughout much of the US Election?

I mean, his twitter feed has basically been him promoting tweets that then get hit with Community Notes pointing out how inaccurate the claims are.

Just because they weren’t 100% effective doesn’t mean they were 0% effective. Anyone with half a brain should recognise this.
The same people with half a brain would recognise that they were definitely advertised as a super duper effective, and it's completely legitimate to question the messaging from 'the experts'.

Tredrea: Doesn't get vaxxed, is absolutely fine
Tredrea: Backs the winning horse in the election

Most of this board:
WHAT A DUMB campaigner MORON WHO DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING AND WILL DIE OF COVID

How can some people be so arrogantly confident about the world around them and yet so wrong about how things actually turn out?
