It appears that California is desperately trying to close that monumental gap between Harris’ vote count and Joe Biden’s now very curious “record” 81 million “votes”.

My prediction is that by Christmas, Harris will have 100 million votes, 40 million of which will be from California, making her the most popular non-president of all time.

I'm pretty sure I responded to one of your posts a few days ago about the counting and how it was predominantly western blue states that still needed to be counted and where it would roughly end up numbers wise.

Just like my prediction on Trump winning, my prediction with the final numbers (Trump high 70s vs Harris mid to low 70s) seems to be on track too.

I'm guessing the way things operate here is similar to how things work over in the US. There's a mass of people who perform a quick count on the night to determine whether the margin is big enough to call a result, once the election has been called the votes have to be individually counted by the Electoral Commission to get a final tally and that takes time.

I've seen local SA seats take 2+ weeks for a final count and that's only for seat of 25,000 votes, California is biggest state and has about 15 million votes to count.

At the end of the day the California vote doesn't really change anything and is nothing out of the ordinary. Trump is still going to win the popular vote and Trump also got a swing towards him in California.

Noting this started with my post that you copied in from another thread which was specifically about Trump's policies and what happens next, but sure, happy to postpone our discussion about those policies to a later date.

I’m banned from the other thread. If I wasn’t, I’d be all over that thing quicker than you at a Covid vaccine pop-up clinic.

And was it a crushing, terminal blow to your entire world view when Trump lost in 2020? What about when Labor won the 2022 election here in Aus and the 2024 election in the UK?

You know full well that I don’t wave any politicians’ pom poms, and in fact some of my most intense dislike is reserved for politicians on the so-called right.

Claiming Trump's election as a decisive validation for each and every opinion you've ever held is exactly the sort of simplistic analysis we've come to expect from you Pete.

It’s not so much a decisive validation for every opinion I hold (although I am right about an awful lot), it’s more a confirmation (not that we needed it) of how out of touch you are.

Having said that, I think you are slightly less out of touch than most in the TDS thread. So there is that.

I was actually going to let you off the hook and not post your election season greatest hits package, but unfortunately you quoted Pete Buttigieg, and that tipped me over the edge.

"There are good Presidential candidates, then there is Kamala Harris, then there is 50 feet of crap, then there is Donald Trump".

Haha. Excellent from Buttigieg on Project 2025.

“The biggest scandal of the election, the one that actually has the Republicans most afraid, the one that has President Trump doing damage control.. It’s not a criminal cover up (although they have one of those too). It’s not a sex tape. It’s the simple fact that they wrote down their own policies.”

Haha. Trump is terrified of debating Harris.

As for what this does for his chances in the upcoming election, we know that there are the hardcore, rusted on MAGA lunatics who will vote for him no matter what, but you can't win an election with this vote alone.

I suspect that "not voting for a convicted criminal" is probably going to be the line in the sand for many of the more moderate, sensible Republican voters.

Are they? I doubt any Democrats are particularly concerned with RFKs movements given the current momentum and direction of polling swinging Harris' way.

If anything, it's been Trump and the Republicans crying once the bubble popped on their delusion that RFK was going to be taking votes from the Democrats because of his surname.

We're talking miniscule numbers either way though, RFK was a non-entity in the polls, and him teaming up with Trump/Vance does nothing to dull the 'weird' tag that is following their campaign like a bad smell.

End of the line for Trump.

I think rather it might be the end of the line for your political punditry.

Scott Galloway again nailing the points that the left has a problem with taking men's issues seriously and continuing to use demonising language. Until they start dropping stupid terms like toxic masculinity, they will continue to alienate a key co-hort. This applies around the world, not just the United States.

You mean to say these didn’t hit the mark with men??

That’s truly incredible. I could never have seen that coming.

Since his win, he has kept on announcing common sense policy with this the latest and a very welcome one

Yeah that wont happen. To him military are a tool to be used, you are useless to him if you are retired.

But logically it wont happen because the mass deportation will actually cost billions of dollars. Saw some estimated numbers on this and yes you can argue its Bidens fault. Thats not the argument here.

The total amount of people in law enforcement in the entire USA comes to 800,000. If you see crime shows, the resources needed to round up maybe a couple of criminals is at a minimum 6 law enforcement offices, with guns, cars, radios, helicopters etc.

So how many law enforcement officers would he need to employ, train and move around the country to mass deport just 1 million illegal migrants.

1. Needs staff to run the detention centers in southern texas. Needs to house this staff.
2. needs staff to process each illegal and the deportation process
3. Needs vehicles
4. needs guns
5. needs police resources like batons, handcuffs
6. needs on the ground agents to investigate workplaces, suburbs
7. needs transportation vehicles to transport northern state iilegals to the detention centres
8. Needs transportation vehicles to transport illegals out of the country.

So the costs are astronomical. Any savings from the money spent on housing and other illegals entitlements will all but be swallowed by the mass deportation program plus several billion dollars.

Then his gift of tax breaks for the rich etc will all but drain the treasury of any excess funds they have.

The use of the military while some sort of work around with some costs will still cost billions of dollars. its not free labor.

Billions and billions that never should need to have to be spent had this outgoing regime not made it policy to flood the country with millions of these people.

Here is Tom Homan who will be heading up the mass deportations and he says it as it is
