Re the border you are right you can’t put a $$ figure on it. Well you can estimate the cost of removing the illegals (call it 1T or so) and the likely negative economic consequences of removing them as a cheap and abundant labour source. But you are right re keeping Americans safe it’s impossible to put a $ figure on itEssentially you want to put tariffs on stuff you make, and not on stuff you don’t make.
European countries & Japan etc tariff the absolute shit out of the US auto industry, as an example.
So you can be strategic about where you put them, and use it as a bargaining chip.
I agree with you that you can’t just go in and slap them on everything, but using some economic leverage to protect American workers and American industries is a good thing.
Looking forward to your response on the border security issue.
The real question is how much crime do they commit? I haven’t googled before writing this but had read previously migrant crime was LOWER than averages across the country. Trump mentioned a few (2-3) girls that were r*ped and murdered. Disgraceful. I am all for capital punishment for bastards that do this shit,
But how common is it? Especially relative to the real scourge in the US which we all know is the 50,000 people per year dying from guns Just a complete and utter farce they haven’t amended this constitutional right as weapons have modernised over the decades,
Don’t you think gun violence is the real issue needing addressing in terms of violence? That’s the real evil where gun manufacturers see fit to market pretty pink rifles to teenage girls. Like how ****** up is that as a society that both parties haven’t been able to fix
What the data says about gun deaths in the U.S.
More Americans died of gun-related injuries in 2021 than in any other year on record, according to the latest available statistics from the CDC.
