been a long time since I did any economics, big surely there’s a variety of outcomes and it’s not just as simple as the tariff being added to current price and passed on in full to the consumer with no change to their behaviour.
Reality I reckon that Trump uses the threat of tariffs almost entirely as a bargaining position. He hadn’t an ounce of diplomacy and sees everything as an opportunity for a negotiation ‘win’ and opportunity to grandstand.
