been a long time since I did any economics, big surely there’s a variety of outcomes and it’s not just as simple as the tariff being added to current price and passed on in full to the consumer with no change to their behaviour.

Reality I reckon that Trump uses the threat of tariffs almost entirely as a bargaining position. He hadn’t an ounce of diplomacy and sees everything as an opportunity for a negotiation ‘win’ and opportunity to grandstand.

Oh, I took it that the country could not be happier with his performance in his 1st week in office and he has projected massive strength on the world stage and is a promises made promises kept kind of guy based on what he has done so far. You really meant Biden in the bolded bit above..its ok the call it out and repent

Half the world is laughing at his incompetence and half of his supposed allies are pissed off at his lies and grandstanding. Of course if all you watch is Fox you wouldn’t know this so I will help you out.

I fully expect to see a majority of left leaning parties outed at the next election, hell, look at this country for instance, Peter Dutton is miles ahead now as preferred PM, Dutton FFS. I honestly thought he was a 2 year pick to provide a little stability for the party and be taken over from so that the Libs could claw back a few seats. Labor are somehow* so bad that Dutton is going to lead a victory in a few months.

*Well not somehow, usual shite from the Labor party in the last 30 years.

I don't think Dutton will win the next election personally, more likely Labor/Albanese fall over the line with the support mostly of the Greens.

Shows you how bad this Labor/Albanese/grim Jim Chalmers Government has been that the bloke that the left ridiculed as unelectable potato head etc blah blah is now even in the discussion to form Government.

Of course the only big winner if an ALP Government with the support of the Greens comes to pass will be Adam Bandt and his far left socialist policies because as sure as night becomes day he will bend Albanese over and give him a good old rogering.
