It’s not really that. It’s just weird that in a thread titled US politics people don’t wanna talk about politics and political decisions. Most of this thread belongs in the media and entertainment board
Gaetz and Hesgeth spring to mind also that Hershel guy spring to mind.
But possibly it's in other threads.

Trump is vain and arrogant. He makes his an inauguration smaller to make it safer. Now he is a coward?

You know you have nothing to argue on when all you can do is create lose/lose situations to argue with.
So what you're saying is that trump is more concerned with the safety and wellbeing of the citizens than those 3 former presidents?
If Trump had gone ahead and had a much larger than expected crowd and then hundreds of people collapsed or were treated for frostbite, I know what the deranged mob would be saying. 'Trump put his vanity ahead of people's safety.' I can absolutely guarantee it.

So the safety of the people attending Trump's rallies should always be considered more important than Trump holding the rally?

Especially inclement weather?

That's your positions. And it's not only your positions NOW, because it defends Trump?
It's not just 'to call out the hypocrisy of the left'.

Your actual positions are that Trump should not hold events like this (ranging from small private rallies to public office inaugurations) if it puts attendees at harm, especially due to inclement weather?

OR

Are you just defending Trump, and you don't actually care one way or the other?

Implication vs application.
It's only ever the implication that they are interested in.
Never the application.

There has been evidence provided against Gaetz and Hegseth. But it's ignored or defended. -Application. -Defended. "Innocent until proven guilty etc".
Joe Biden sniffed someone's head or something? - Implication -Condemned. "Guilty".

I understand that you're trying to use this as evidence of Trump being compassionate etc.

To you, this supports your position(?) that Trump's indoor inauguration is due to care and compassion for attendees.

But what you've just shared has done the opposite.
It shows that Trump went ahead with rallies that put attendees in harms way, the same way they would with the inauguration, and that he held them anyway.

The delays etc, the extended wait times. These all also added to the impacts and outcomes.

Can you at least see my position in this?

Are you telling me my position(s) or asking me questions big boy?
Asking. Even in the post I just made, I included (?) because I didn't want to state it as your position. I'm putting it across as what your position appears to be to me.

And it's why I made the post asking you to clarify your position.

He's cancelled many rallies because of weather concerns in the past.

You're still doing it.
You're looking for information to support your position. And using whatever you think might work.

Less than an hour before Trump was to take the stage.
Speaking from his private plane, Trump cited lightning and the incoming storm in explaining that he would not be landing.

That is the 2nd and 3rd paragraph of the link you just sent me.

Can we find any middle ground here?

I think that if Trump decided to hold his inauguration indoors BECASUSE of a care and compassion for attendees, that that would be a good thing. And that it's a sign of a good person.
I think we can agree on that?
That if Trump's reasoning was for the safety of others, that's a good thing and it isn't fair to attack him for it. <- Is this a 'ground' we can both stand on?

If he talks about decreased crowd sizes, blames safety limitations on the number of people allowed entry etc etc.
If in part of his speech he talks about how his crowd size should be bigger but it had to be indoors, and people are lining up outside etc etc.
To me, that is enough evidence that he didn't move inside out of care and compassion for attendees.
Would you agree with any of that?

According to the experts over on The Gateway Pundit, and Brietbart,
The moving of the Inauguration the event was moved indoors due to security concerns.
Possible Drone attacks or snipers.
Also the weather people are wrong and it's a deep blue plot.
Probably going to be a constant issue that

I'm saying both sides are hypocrites myself BUT one is being what I believe is a bit more tedious about it

I think people should be more concerned with the ceasefire in Israel/Gaza that even Washington Post can admit was organised by Trump as opposed to the location of a party

I just got whiplash from your post that I quoted to this one.

Bit unfair!

So Trump will own the war when Israel breaks the ceasefire deal in a few days/weeks?

That I believe Trump is vain and arrogant but he can also do things to protect people over his ego
That's not hypocritical. That's a logical and reasoned approach. Right?
What do you think the hypocritical part of that is?
You don't have to answer, but it would be interesting.

I've said in a post a little earlier that I would support him for that action if he has done these things for the reasons you and others are suggesting.

The concept of believing someones exact personality is changeable at that level. Vanity isn't a switch you can turn off that way

TBH it's just bizarre we are talking about this more then the ceasefire.... Not your fault but just saying overall. It's quite illogical of us

Correct. The person who administers the ceasefire is responsible for it

Biden has zero responsibility for it even though he signed it
The Biden administration has been weak and cowardly in regards to Israel. In fact, they've actively helped to facilitate genocide.
But that his administration still have some involvement in this ceasefire.
And this isn't hypocritical, right?
This is me accepting that these things take time, knowledge and communication. And that we will eventually find out how big a part Trump played, but that the existing and ongoing ceasefire negotiations played a part as well.

They have no involvement in it. Trumps delegation flew over to demand Israel sign it, not Biden's

You are ignoring the evidence in front of your eyes on this one.

You're still doing it.
You're looking for information to support your position. And using whatever you think might work.

I hope the irony of you saying this and then proceeding to underline parts of the CNN article you think somehow agree with your position and then ignoring the other two articles is not lost on anybody who bothers to read this.

To save a multi page back and forth on this straining a gnat type discussion, this is my position. Do I think moving the inauguration indoors was a good idea? Yes. Do I think it's a good idea to have people standing around outside in below freezing temperatures for 7 hours on a day forecasted to be the second coldest inauguration day on record? No.

I'd be interested whether you agree or disagree with those positions.

Satan brought up instances of people fainting reportedly from heat at one of Trump's rallies which I'd never heard of before. Fair enough. In a higher res video of the one I posted where Trump walks into a crowd to check on a woman receiving medical treatment the nearly 80 year old Don, dressed not in summer clothes but a suit and tie appears to not have a bead of sweat on him, so I'm not sure how hot it really was. In any case it's well known that cold weather is far more lethal than hot weather. I'm sure there is always a tension between not letting down supporters who have travelled long distances to be at these events and keeping people as safe as possible.
