When you find out that there was no defunding of any firefighters/departments.
That the reservoirs were at record levels, and not lacking due to water being diverted.

When you find that Trump lied to you, again. And that you've just uncritically accepted and spread this misinformation because grifters are taking advantage of you...

...Will you pause for a moment to consider if the overwhelming scientific consensus on climate change, might at least be possible?
Also any proof they didn’t cut funding ?

Is that the only way to fight fire ? That’s one aspect of it only
Pretty big aspect. And 80 mph winds fanning flames making it simply impossible to put these fires out for long periods.

I am sure that reports of underfunding on these public services are based on some sort of fact. I am sure that this would hamper firefighting efforts.

Could you give us the list of policies? A link with your summary. I don't know about others but I am not up on their climate policies that I can recall.
If we look at the UN and international policies which I find very important in a global issue China has set 2060 as the goal with a beginning date of 2026 to even attempt any policies . India has set 2070 as its policy without any investment in reducing it til 2040.

Should we accept that as the answer?

https://climateactiontracker.org/countries/india/net-zero-targets/ - very very good website this one

Do you have a link I can follow to read about this? Helps to see what you're reading so we're on the same page, so to speak.

Australia can't do much in the scheme of things compared to the likes of China & India. BTW my energy bills are well below average and I mostly use bike and public transport. Perhaps you should point the finger at the people with mansions and private jets.
When people make the comparisons in terms of impact by 'the elite' flying privately or owning a mansion, vs changing global systems.
Pointing out how the individual is more to blame than the systems they're trying to change.
They're hypocrites for wanting to change global systems, because of the impact they're having as an individual. etc etc.

How can you always also make the argument that Australia shouldn't do anything, because the impact would be so minimal compared to China and India.

But you want to drill more? No backburning would have stopped these fires, there were high winds blowing embers 100km so stop with that deflecting argument.
Question for you? What do fire need to burn?

And enough of the hyperbolic misinformation please.

How far can an ember travel?

Once they're picked up by strong winds, embers can travel as much as five miles in front of the active front of a wildfire.

Where did I say that Australia shouldn't do anything?

Argument can also be reverse can it not. If every bit matters, why doesn’t the bit China contributes matter? Why have we done NOTHING about that bit ?

China is apart of the global system after all

Even I think we should do something. Drill baby drill but invest a lot more in forrestation restoration and wildlife improvements.

We are already carbon positive as a nation but can always improve that aspect of ourselves and we should never stop trying to restore cleared forrestation when it’s so simple to achieve

The bit about being too windy to collect sea water to fight fires with aircraft - is that because of fire hydrants?

Using sea water to fight fires introduces other problems. The salt water is very corrosive and can damage critical equipment in the water dumping planes. Can't really fill the trucks with it either because it can damage pumps etc. Then there's the damage to the environment (plants and raising overall soil salinity). So I think generally it's used as a last resort and even then only if the environmental conditions suit.

If you are relying on it you are in deep trouble already. You need to stop the process of needing it. I don’t think the indigenous population were using aircraft’s to clear fires for example during our early days

This is how it is done by a competent governor who has integrity.

Less integrity and more the desire to improve his state. Newsom and the Mayor have used the office to expand their reach on an international level.

If you are in Ghana during the biggest fire disaster your city has seen in 400 years, your priorities are warped

What needed to be done is insanely basic. They just didn’t do it cos they didn’t care

That the reservoirs were at record levels ...

Wasn't the budget cut by 17.6 million?

The closest reservoir to the fires in the Pallisades is St Yynez and this was empty according to the people who live there. If it had been full, firefighters wouldn't have had to pump water uphill from elsewhere. There's approximately 14 other reservoirs, which ones do you claim were at "record levels".
