Does NOBSPCOCAAFC have a contingency plan to cope without you next year??

Not quite sure how you can leave your beloved club in the depths of C Grade.

Bruno Conti may have to make his way back in to the fold to cover the master VAFA strategist whilst he is O/S.

I am sure NOBSPC will be fine in my absence. The loss of a loose man in the reserves back line will be keenly felt but other than that, things will continue as normal.

It is a very exciting time at the Gillon, I am disappointed to be missing the debut year of what will be a powerful VAFA force. I expect to fly in to watch the Grand Final between NOBSPC and your old club St Bedes Mentone in September.

Sorry 'Phonsie, I'll be battling out for the B section relegation with Beaumaris, I left the Tigers.

Players of the year:
It's time formy first annaul players of the year, as well as dissapointments of the year.
A Section player of the year: James Gertsmann Old Scotch: Has there ever been a more damaging forward in the VAFA in recnet years? Several hauls of a dozen or more kept an average Scothcies in the mix deep into the finals.
Best Ruckman: Andrew Ramsden: A super player over a long period of time. All clubs are waiting for the day 'Rambo' pulls the pin.
Best On Baller: Cayden Beetham: His best season this year by a mile. Gave up an AFL career to ensure Xavs dominance over the next 5 years.
Best Defender: Nigel Credlin: May be in C section, but clearly in the top 10 players in the VAFA.
Best Small forward: Matt Lucas: amazing ability to to do the freakish made it worthwhile attending St Kevins games in a losing season.
Fittest player: Joel Rice: Just kept running all day, can also find the pill a bit.
Most Colorful character: Scott Mollard: still manages some good footy whilst acting the clown.
Biggest letdown: Steve McKee: Often maligned by Pies supporters for his laid back attitude, McKee dominated at times in between his several overseas holidays. Needed a fukll season at SKOB to justify his reputation.

Wasn't in the top ten. Has there ever been a more over-rated performer. One bag on Hayter and how many others in games that counted? Great talent but . . . (I'd take Adam Jones, Matt Bourke, Dan Richardson thanks)

Best Ruckman: Andrew Ramsden: A super player over a long period of time. All clubs are waiting for the day 'Rambo' pulls the pin.

With a physique like his, he should be a good ruckman. But he's not. Wasn't even the best at Trinity. Many clubs are waiting for him to go so that bette ruckmen moight get state honours

Best On Baller: Cayden Beetham: His best season this year by a mile. Gave up an AFL career to ensure Xavs dominance over the next 5 years.

Best season indeed, but Mark Patterson was pretty handy as were a few others.

Fittest player: Joel Rice: Just kept running all day, can also find the pill a bit.

Perhaps the best mid-fielder!

Most Colorful character: Scott Mollard: still manages some good footy whilst acting the clown.

Clown days well and truly behind him.

Biggest letdown: Steve McKee: Often maligned by Pies supporters for his laid back attitude, McKee dominated at times in between his several overseas holidays. Needed a fukll season at SKOB to justify his reputation.
Legendary Dud

A Section Player of the Year:
Andrew Ramsden - too good in the ruck and too good up forward. Defies his age to still be a VAFA superstar.

Best Ruckman:
Chris Keunan - a young man going places... a for now it's the WAFL. My sources tell me that Fremantle and West Coast will be having a good look at him.

Best On-Baller:
Cayden Beetham - see above posts

Best Defender:
Sean Towner - at just 19 years of age held down CHB and won a spot in the VAFA under 23 state side. Will only get better in 2006.

Best Forward:
Simon Minton Connell - he had a horrible team and horrible delivery but still managed 80 big ones. Was a very big team player and was great with the younger players.

Fittest Player:
Joel Rice - See above posts

Most Colourful Character:
Nathan Pope - a huge liability for St Kevins but he's the player opposition supporters love to hate.

Biggest Letdown:
James Heritage - came to Collegians with massive wraps and was to make a formiddable duo with Jono Dixon but went down in round 1 with a knee injury that required a reconstruction. Hopefully comes back bigger and better in 2006.

I can tell you now that James Hertiage will be bigger in 2006. I'm not sure if you have seen him lately but sadly the key postion player has let himself go somewhat. weighing in at over 120kg's collegians fc did a Mark Cosgrove and told him not to return to the club until he is back to his playing weight. Can't take a trick the big fella. Poor bloke.

I hear he is about 10kgs lighter after drowning a poor girl after a night out at the Boutique a few weeks ago???

Gee sounds like he must have really slayed her!

Did anybody see a certain curly headed Collegians player (Nick Burrows)with his pants around his ankles at Motel prior to Xmas..? Talk about a loose cannon. Seems that his time with AA didn't help.

Me neither - must be a very loose cannon, 'coz I don't think he's a big gun.

He unfortunately broke a hand in round 2, the plate that was inserted got a staph infection and he came pretty close to death. Since recovering he has been living life to the fullest.

Plenty of VAFA people found their way to the coast on the weekend.

My souces tell me that the OC and Knight Rider were amongst it but surrounded by several ethnics at the Portsea Hotel.

The Big Pineapple, Slitherin' Snake, Scott MacFlaherty & Topgun 18 were spotted at the Barwon Heads Pub.

Those in Lorne for the pier to pub swim would have been feeling a little uneasy seeing Alphonse in a leather jacket accompanied by his dear friend Oggy's Cousin, sources tell me that they had their fair share of the ladies in their corner. A man named Hutch may also have been sighted for the second time in as many weeks after spending a long time out of the limelight, welcome back Hutch. Apparently he enjoys entertaining in his Collins St pad.

Also spotted in Lorne was the most known man in amateur football, Jono Dixon, my old mate Juice Wintle would love to have known that.

Good luck to all those resuming pre-season in the coming weeks.

Didnt hear it but it doesnt surprise me at all , why dont we just admit that the majority of A & B section clubs pay players , how else do you attract gun players ?

Imagine my shock when I came into the lounge of my beach house on Sunday morning to find Alphonse and Oggy's cousin snuggled up together on the floor.

Despite their sleeping arrangements I would like to thank the boys for all the Crownies they left behind. ;)

Someone rang up SEN yesterday early afternoon and was talking about Old Haileybury paying players.......anyone else hear that?
Crash,
there are some well known VFL players who have been offered coin to sign with the Bloods as their second club. There are several rumours re payments to Trollope, Corrigan, Rigg and a couple of SANFL players who have hit town recently.
They can't be substantiated though, unless one of these guys gives them up.

The Bloods may be a force in 2006

They were discussing with the money coming to the AFL and trickling on to development arms, what local clubs could use money and for what. Some guys (who I think called himself Richard) then said Old Haileybury could use the funds as they are just about broke from paying their players each week. Pretty cheap shot. The presenters almost choked on their lunch. I didnt hear if there was any reply though to defend OH's position.

I agree CG, just deal with it and move on.

If your club can't afford to do it then bring out the old meat tray raffle.
