Anyone near a tv with the kooyong classic on, keep an eye out for renowed vafa identity "The Commish" writing himself off at the AAMI marquee courtside.

Plenty of VAFA celebrities at the polo on Saturday.

One of the highlights in my eyes was a great right cross thrown by an undisclosed person for the abuse he was getting about his club's fortunes in 2005. The recipient of this punch had his nose end up somewhere between his cheek and ear!

Glamours aplenty and quite drunk by the time they made it to the beer garden of the Portsea pub, a most enjoyable evening was had and I'm sure plenty of people blew a few too many brain cells.

Any other news around the traps?

Two Japanese Internationals have been linked with St Bernards see here, they are currently at the AIS draft camp in Canberra and will be coming to Melbourne to train with Essendon for the next two months. I assume this is due to the link between Madden and Sheedy? We did see this last year with the annual US scholarship holder training with Essendon gaining an audience with the Snow Dogs but eventually playing with the Blacks.

No one wanted to touch this last time, but it came up again in the Herald Sun again today . Will we see the Japanese at St Bernards?

Can anyone give me any info on a guy named - Murray Makris ex OEG?
Being rumoured to have signed with Abers in the EDFL????

How much time do you have?

Over to you Big Pineapple, I think he warrants his own thread.

Yes you're right Alphonse. Much could be said about enigmatic Murray "Ferrari" Makris. I think he can best be compared with the looks of Marcos Baghdatis, the deft touch of Maradonna, the football brain of Mick Malthouse and the C grade celebrity status of Tamsyn Lewis. A couple of years ago he was destined for the VFL and even trained at Coburg before turning his back on the money to return to OEG. Under the Calthopre regime he became starved of oppurtunity and his frustration began to grow and became very public. An exteremly talented winger/half forward he will bring experience, skill and leadership to Aberfeldie as well as insight into life never seen before. He will be sorely missed at OEG as a player and a personality. Curb his playboy and party lifestyle and you may have a superstar on your hands here!

Jarrod hits a good golf ball with a handicap of 4... that's about all I know.

His older brother Nigel is better though and has just qualified for the Aussie Tour.

Makris to Abers? Wow, that really would be a blow to the OEG party circut.

If he will indeed be playing at Abers, I'm sure the OEG supporters will miss his deft skills and prancing along half forward

I'm pretty sure this is him......... http://www.oldxavs.com/j3106020(edited).JPG

Am trying to get some inside mail from a mate involved at the club

Who knows. I spoke to him during the season last year and he said it was either SKOBS or XAVS in the hunt for his services, with SKOBS winning out - a better job.

It would be hard to believe that after the article that was posted on here sometime ago that he was returning 'home' that he wouldn't, but if he were to stay it would most likely be XAVS.

It seems he is Myrtleford bound, but is training with Xavs. They still think they're in the hunt and have have some deal on the table involving tuition for his kids (not sure if he has any yet). According to my source SKOB's offered him the same deal but he didn't want his kids ending up stupid and with an inferiority complex!

What, have you been listening to the messages left on brianspeaking's answering machine? Or just smoking what he smokes? Why would Xavs want McKee? Not even sure it's him.

Maybe because it'll be their only chance to beat SKOB's this year seeing as they've been relagated!

Or they just want to add to their collection of hasbeens!
