O'Brian..... just to name a few.

Now they've got Darren Handley to coach them all the way down the ladder.

OEG premiers in C grade 2007.

OEG still have enough calibre running around at the moment to be competitive this season. There certainly not relegation material as some are suggesting but neither are they serious contenders. I'd expect Goulett and Teal to add a bit along with the fast tracking of some 19's.

Congratulations to my mate C Judd on the captaincy also, I know Caulfield and Bec are mighty proud of you!

How long has Nicholson been at the Bloods now? Throughout his coaching career he has been able to get quick results, then about 3 years down the track he get chased out of the club for being such a pain in the butt to play under. It was that way at Springvale, Bernards, and it won't be long till it happens again.

Polyester Pete has only coached at the Badlands for 20 games but some of the devotees are saying it already feels like 20 years. But Pete doesn't have friends, he has premierships.

Tim harvey is a gun will be one of best players in the EDFL this year. Amatuer football is a far second to the tougher, smarter and bigger EDFL

Strathmore may have spent up big to recruit, and yes maybe they would beat most VAFA sides.

But, how would Strathmore fare against any VAFA side if they weren't able to pay their players.

I'm tipping they wouldn't give a whimper.

Most of us are semi-educated and don't need to be paid (or payed as you put it) to play the game we love.

I've been involved with 2 VAFA clubs in the higher grades and have seen no evidence of paying players at either.

So I ask you again, how would Strathmore fare against any VAFA side if they weren't able to pay their players?

with an all strathmore 18 (18 players from under 10s and up) we would be more than competitive...itt the changing of the ages in victorian local football and amatuer football has taken a turn for the worst

Maybe they are.
Still its the same every year in the EDFL, there is only one (maybe 2) decent sides in the comp in one year. Its not as if the league is filled with great players, its because most of them have no loyalty and just play for the club offering the most cash.
Its no coincidence that Strathmore and Maribyrnong Park have got 150 blokes on the track in February but where will they be when it dries up?

Strathmore might be better than most VAFA teams but the bottom half of A Grade EDFL would struggle to beat a lot of B Grade VAFA teams

Its funny you know...whisper was (and the source was very reliable) that Winter was keen to head to a Amateur A grade club this season because it has better prospects for his VFL/AFL aspirations (ask your parole officer Wizza what that word means). Only stayed cos they upt the offer for this year.
As with most in that comp, the ass falls out very quickly.
