Why would he be from Old Scotch? Could be from any of the other clubs. In fact I would think he is less likely to be from Old Scotch. Everyone knows the Scotchies save all their hate and loathing for the Xavs.

Does the Big Pineapple know of any big comings and particularly goings from Syndal Tally Ho this season? How are they looking in 2006?

Things are on the up at Jordan Reserve as Rowey tries to assemble a strong playing list for the 2006 season. At this stage no real big name loses to speak of and I believe Macca has been speaking to a few younger guys from De La Salle and Collegians. I think most people in the VAFA would agree that we don't belong in D4 will be one of the teams to beat this season.

Uni Blues are a rabble. Word is some of players and senior officials are not happy with coach. major fallout on the horizon

isn't john kanis coaching uni blues?? i'd find it rather strange that players and officials are not happy with a legend of the club.

You are amazing...this forum is like Christmas for you.....

Brian Speaking I saw a former leader from SKOB's at the gym the other night and he wouldn't even entertain the thought of going back to the club. Apparantly the wheels have genuinely fallen off and they are soon to suffer the fate of clubs such as Collegians and find themselves on a steep slippery slide.

Any thoughts? Maybe the burden of being the poor, ******ed cousins of the Catholic teams in the higher grades has finally taken it's toll. They will always be the school which Scotch pumps its sewerage into, and the type of blokes who catch public transport on weekends.

I didn't even realise public transport operated on weekends

Yeah its getting a bit much...boring really...

But if i must i have heard similar whispers at Uni Blues...even sponsors unhappy...

Plumber, guys like you make participating on this site barely worthwhile. There are just as many decent guys at every APS school. School pride always ensures great rivalry exists, and everyone always thinks that they come from "the best". Please enlighten us with some mature thoughts and predictions rather than boring and unoriginal dribble like your latest effort. If your parents had sent you to St. Kevins you would proudly follow the old boys and be scarcely different from who you are today.

Speaking to my good friend and fellow goal umpire Richard Thwaites at umpire training and he tells me that Old Essendon's list is looking a little bit thin at the moment. He tells me that both Biggs brothers are gone (Bendigo), Stormont (EDFL), Day (EDFL), Hand & Hargreaves and the Dazkiuw brothers are gone too, Obliubek is coaching the under 19s and the Flaherty brothers might not be playing (Daniel is still training at Bendigo and Matt is not interested in playing).

Could be a tough year at Keilor Hill.

Dunno where you are coming from Froggie they don't have too many sponsors to get unhappy unless you are counting the "mum's and dad's" I can't believe some of the rubbish that gets posted on here

Thats a little rich Brian given the slinging I have read today from you. You are the main cause of it!

Yes very true.
Not to mention the loss of Makris (EDFL) which will be a real blow on a couple of fronts.

The North-West region of the VAFA seems to be on the slide with both OEG and Bernards looking like having sub-standard teams, if things go on like this they'll have no option other than to merge.

Just imagine it
It'd be just like in mighty ducks when that really good kid gets re-zoned but they all hate him then they grow to like his character, you know what kids are like ..........I forget what else happens but its an excellent performance by Emilio Estevez though I nearly cried in one scene.

Anyway its quite clear Handley would be coach, Ryan Legudi and Chris Goulett sharing the captaincy, Chris Keunan Vice with John Newbold as president. The only problem would be that a jumper made up of both teams colours would force gay men and metrosexuals alike to vomit with rage, however this could be a very handy tactic when playing Ivanhoe as they would be completely unable to score.

Great to hear, hope the Ho train slay all before them in their way back up to D3! Fantastic club.

HBW - this is perhaps the funniest material I've seen for quite some time. Nice work - just like Emilio, it was probably (Breakfast Club aside) the only other highpoint in an otherwise disappointing career. Brother Charlie has prospered in the meantime.

However, I digress - the drain on OEG/St Bernards' playing stocks from the RDFL, Bendigo and EDFL leagues would be starting to concern the powers that be at both clubs. The paucity of top level ammo clubs in the surrounding region mean they're ripe for the pickings from suburban clubs with fat cheque books.

Some may be aware that Strathmore (EDFL premiers 2005) have increased their player payment budget and managed to attract Tim Harvey, along with the Barnard brothers and Myles Quinn (WA state ruckman - Claremont). Most would also know that WAFL clubs keep a keen eye on Bernards, with East Freo having taken D. Jordan, Fielding and now D. Byrne and Keunan. This places immense pressure on the club having to fast-track under 19s and reserves players graduating to the senior side.

Pretty tough environment in which to continue to foster footy for the love of the game!!!!

You make me laugh...what is it Handsome...a few points i would however like to clear up for my friends at St Bernards.
Handley left cos he was overlooked for the top job a few times.
Legudi...haha leave it at that
Goullet- All class, its given the students will miss him.

But the biggest problem i have with your point above is that it wouldnt be a merged team. When you put the squads together and pick a senior team and a reserve team, youll still come up with St Bernards playing the senior game, and the poor souls from Keilor Hill still playing the early game.

Bernards- A grade Premiership smokies '05
OEG- C grade finalists '07

Just a quick one froggie. The Bernards are no chance. I back Xavs to swamp Uni in the big one, and cause many red faces - especially a-grade scribes.

Ill agree with you on one thing...Uni are not going to win it.

My point is a lot of people are writing the Essendon boys off...dont do it just yet.

I do apologise Brian. Being new to this forum, I just took my queue from reading earlier posts from people like yourself. (sarcasm intended)

What is the word from Uni Blues? I saw the leadership group training together at the Tan in early October, so they must be keen to put the ghosts behind them. Round 1 will be a beauty against Xavs, can't wait for that...it will be on.

How long has Nicholson been at the Bloods now? Throughout his coaching career he has been able to get quick results, then about 3 years down the track he get chased out of the club for being such a pain in the butt to play under. It was that way at Springvale, Bernards, and it won't be long till it happens again.

It seems to me that it is OEG getting Bernards scraps.

Dunnell
Newbold
Fewster
Leguidi
O'Brian..... just to name a few.

Now they've got Darren Handley to coach them all the way down the ladder.

OEG premiers in C grade 2007.
