I am gutted as we knew him personally. A great young man who had so much more to give. My heart breaks for all of Port and all of us. I still cannot believe we will not see his face again as he dashes around the footy fields playing the game he treasured so much. Deepest sympathies to his family and anyone who knew him.
R.I.P. Johnny MAC.....

A shocking and tragic loss, although many of us have never met him, we can all empathise with the empty feeling of the loss of someone before their time.

Like many other Port supporters, I'll be cheering on the pies as well this week

RIP

I am here to say Sorry for Not Very Good Post and Pissed people off.

That what I did not want to do and I am just as Sad as everyone else.

I am just posting to say SORRY!!!

As an Adelaide Pies supporter I always kept a look out for JMac with the power and was wrapt he had made a fresh start at the club, this is very sad news and I am feeling terrible for his teammates past and present and especially his family. RIP.

This tragedy spans clubs and indeed sport in general. Huge condolences to anyone & everyone connected with John - certainly puts your average supporter's gripes into perspective.

Am I wrong in saying that J-Mac was on the ground after the 2010 flag?

I'm pretty sure he was one of the players in suits, along with the likes of O'Bree, Presti and Fraser who came out onto the ground to celebrate with the team.

If so, it just adds to the sadness of his loss, adding to that fact that he played 18 games for our club.

RIP John.

R.I.P. J-Mac. Once Collingwood, always Collingwood. So sad to see such a talented player die. Was doing great things at Port. Just out of words really, thoughts and prayers with his family :(

RIP John... Condolences to his family and his friends at Collingwood and the PAFC...

I would not be wanting to play the Pies this weekend... All the best

Will always have a bit of Black and White. So sad no matter what the colours. :(

Thoughts are with his family, close mates and footy team.

Seeing the pictures on Port's website just ram home the tragedy of this, such a young and promising life he had to live.

I really hope the AFL/Port/Collingwood and even his junior teams, can get together to honour him and make his family and friends know that they will never be alone in their grief.

Come on footy world, lets band together and really do something special.
