What? So he has no right to say anything? If you've ever played any semblance of club sport at any level, you would know it sucks to lose - like A LOT.

Factor in this is actually - as you say - their jobs, they have even more reason to feel shit. Ever had a shit day at work? Yep, you don't go home going "Gee that day sucked. But I got paid, so I'm all good" you feel that shit until you can move past it. In AP's mind they don't move past that until we notch that first W

If like many of us do, spend alot of our time on here invested in our board getting angry and depressed about all things Freo at the moment then naturally it will find itself seeping into our lives outside of footy.

A big part of our happiness stems from how our team is travelling and at the moment it's really poor.

I remember I was on holiday and I saw the club website put up an article saying mitch wanted to play for freo or something, maybe he was even wearing a freo shirt? Does anyone else remember this or am I imagining it?

I can’t remember a time I’ve spoken to so many people, in real life who don’t hang here who are done with Freo. People who hung in during the rebuild & rightly got a lot of hope from last season that we’d finally turned the corner as a club and become a serious, reliable contender for a the foreseeable future.

But no, it’s Freo & in one off season we’re back to being a joke & a basket case. And people are gutted.

I know I don’t want to go to the derby & I have a reserved seat. I’ve rarely been so disappointed as for the 4 quarters of the North game. The idea that we’re probably going back to being bitches for West Coast after they played one of the worst seasons in history is making me want to vomit & I’m not sure I can sit & watch it.

The club will be hemorrhaging fans at the moment & heads will be on the block if they don’t turn it around fast.

Kind of feel the same about Sunday tbh. I'll probably still go but honestly not sure I want to go until I see the team try to play decent footy.

In the case of this weekend putting up with what is likely to be a third of the stadium of absolute ****wits is another massive turnoff. Really don't get excited about attending derbies for this reason tbh.

Its true though, we are awful largely because Darcy/Jackson and the midfield group are getting smashed at clearances, worst in the comp at winning the contest. We turn that around and all of a sudden the forwards and defense will look much better and more organized as they wont be chasing tail all game.

I worry for Jacksons mental health if we dont, this club doesn't have the best record with unicorns.

Stoppages is one avenue towards goal.

However, the assertion made by Young is troubling as it suggests that we do not place sufficient emphasis on quick ball movement and transition or have practiced it. This is particularly concerning as other teams have prioritized this during the preseason, and it shows that we are way behind current football trends. The most disappointing thing about this is that Collingwood smashed us in our final from this exact thing.

About Jackson. His performance serves as evidence of the inadequacies of our system. I feel for him, all we do is kick it to him on 3 v 4 on a slow play and expect miracles. There were at least 5 times during the Saints game where he had a one in one and we just refused to kick it to his advantage. He has been significantly worse playing for us when compared to Melbourne. Time will tell, but Jackson's output should be lot better than last season just with another full pre-season and natural growth, not worse.

you're right, no one is looking forward to this game here for those reasons...they are buoyed by a win; we are reeling....their fans will be cockahoot. So from that perspective, it's a must win game which creates that extra pressure. It's our home Derby too and I do think they'll be empty seats which is not a good look for the club after 2022 amid all the 'hype'.

I guess we've all been guilty of over-hype ourselves, but god-damn it - we just want to see a flag win, at least just 1!!

Even if that's not this year, then more evidence that we're shaping up to win one soon enough; it just feels very 2 steps forwards 54 back with this club. Can't enter this weekend's Derby feeling any kind of optimism, can only hope to heavens that a miraculous turn around occurs and the boys figure it out whilst there's still time to turn it around and get the season going. And we all know, hope is a dangerous thing....

Beer in paper cups is the single ****ing stupidest thing that Optus stadium management has ever decided to do.

Either recyclable plastic cups or hear me out, re-usable plastic cups that you pay a $2 deposit on which you get back when you return the cup. If you CBF returning the cups you can give em to someone who needs the $2 or just leave them there for people to pick up.

Also cardboard trays can **** off, again recyclable plastic

I think it is everywhere now. They have been doing them at NIB for Glory games and also for the Glory games this season at Macedonia Park.

The cardboard ones are definitely smaller (while the price has gone up) plus they froth so much your cup is only 3/4 full. I'm definitely going to demand they keep pouring next time until they're full to the brim.
 
How ****ing Dockery is it that we punted a coach whose worst perceived attributes were his uber-defensive focus, seeming stubbornness to outside input, conservatism, and the perception of having favourites and refusing to play the kids… and only to replace him with someone who seems to have exactly the same attributes but no real runs on the board? 😵‍💫😬😡🤷🏽‍♀️
