It was basically sonny playing for the jumper and maybe brayshaw but that was it. Uninspiring. Had we managed to win most of us would still be just as frustrated by the s**t we dished up
Sonny was playing for free kicks. As soon as he gets the ball in traffic he's looking for where that high contact free will come from instead of focusing on playing the game. The umpires have been onto him for years and it's sad that nobody has managed to get him to take that out of his game.
I want a ******* apology from Longmuir god dammit .I feel used and dirty believing all the preseason hype (Jackson is a unicorn 🦄 bull piss the guys a bloody donkey)Every year I think this is the year we come out like a raging bull and then I get that not so gentle reminder that we are Freo and should not get ahead of ourselves. We are a vanilla and dog shite pastry on a shelf of bee stings and jam donuts ,boy oh boy my pitchfork is out and rearing to drive the heathen into the netherworld ...vent over
Now that's a good vent. :thumbsu:
Said Jackson was s**t, was s**t then preceded to trade for him.
All the great trades prior to this, evaporated.

No full forward of any kind. Since 1995 to 1998. Then 2002 to current. Modra has been the only good key forward of any kind at Fremantle.

Pavlich had to go through 3 positional changes to be a key forward- because the team sucked.
Same old, same old.
What about Cliiiiiiiiive!?
For a while I’ve felt like the club has been treading water and JLO is squandering our future. The team dynamic is off even from last year. The team looked slow and always away from the opposition. Chipping it around, dropping marks and generally playing poor footy. I cannot see us winning many games if this is what they dish up every week.
My guess is the team dynamic is off because we have the wrong Captain and some of the players probably feel like JLo has let them down by not providing the circuit breaker between the board/admin and the players which would have allowed them to make the choice they wanted rather than the one the board thinks will give the club the best good feels image. Don't come at me with the players voted for the Captain independently argument, I don't buy it.

I've already cancelled my memberships. Another organisation might care that they are losing 20+year members, but not this one. They care more about attracting new members who will buy new gear. The most enjoyable time with this club as a member was back in the early days when they were struggling for members and had to make an effort to keep them. Bring on the Tasmanian team and I can have that again.

I agree with PurpleReign earlier post around Pearce’s ‘we hurt with you’ comments.
I’m sorry Moose, I know the sentiment was in good spirit but there are a significant number of supporters who have been perennially disappointed since before most of the playing list were even born.
Even Belly went and got a premiership with North in that time. Last night has sapped so much enthusiasm from me for this season. I’ve often considered just giving up over the years but as a day 1 supporter I also fully understand the way Dockery works. As soon as I’m out the bastards will win it.

This, this is flying under the radar as well. We were told that we weren't going to keep acres because we didn't want to hold Johnson and Erasmus back but they are nowhere to be seen

What worst is that the club always let player managers dictate their selection.

Johnson and Erasmus are contracted for another 2 years. Henry is out of contract so he gets played before the other 2.

JLo and Henry are managed by Colin Young.

Hey interesting little fact Loyd Meek has taken more marks in one quarter of football than Jackson has taken in 2 games.

Unicorn my ass!
Really annoyed Meek had to go.

First round- 3 talls and a ruck. Not once did Jl do that with Meek. He's a strong competent ruck who's follow up had improved.

I hardly post these days but I've woken up this morning with a massive feeling of dread thinking back to our history of trading for a big fish to take us to the 'next level'. Has there been a team that has resulted in more All Australians for the opposition following a trade than us?

Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell, James Clement, Paul Medhurst, Ben Reid, Lachie Neale. Any one I've missed?

That's ducking ridiculous. It's also helped teams directly win 5 premierships and the Lions choking is the only thing that's saved us from maybe more.

I had a suspicion of this before we traded for Jackson and it's different as it wasn't part of the direct trade but we've done it again with Logue I feel. He had a bit of a strut about him yesterday. He'll be the main man of their defence and will likely be an AA at some stage.

Not only that but the last two in Hogan and (early days I know) Jackson is that the deals made us worse as a team. Jackson needs to gel with Darcy and go close to AA in his career with us being a well functioning team for this to have been a good trade. If we lose Darcy, or if Jackson doesn't perform individually or we lose what we had last year and are a crap team then this will be an unmitigated disaster.

Acres and Tucker were no big deal but I feel losing Logue, Lobb (structurally) and Meek have taken us a few steps back.

Stop trading for the home run player and build as we had been in the last 4-5 years. It's just embarrassing seeing us do stupid stuff like this again and again. Just soul destroying stuff.

Time to vent.

Being an interstate fan/member is a tough gig normally, but the last week has rubbed it in. Hasn’t been one big thing, but death by a thousand cuts.

There’s been the usual things the club gives WA fans/members but nobody else, such as getting an email for competitions that are only open for WA members. There was the copping abuse from opposition supporters even though you sit in the away fan section, which is the ‘highlight’ of a game day experience that is explicitly not for you.

Yes there was the Melbourne members pre-game function, which I received an email for that said “tickets are almost gone” and best I could get was to go on a waiting list and heard nothing more. I guess members in regional Victoria are lower on the food chain than Melbourne members?

During the week there was a lot of “we’re looking forward to playing in front of our home fans”, couldn’t see anyone saying “Looking forward to playing in front of our away fans”. And then you hear the captain say “we’re hurting with you” after a home defeat. Is that a platitude reserved for home fans as well?

They’re all little things, but this is a venting thread so I’m venting.

Moral of the rant is it’s tough being a perennial away fan, and I feel the need to give a voice to an often ignored minority of the fan base.

Vent over.

Try daily shootouts with Eagles fans and you only have a water pistol

It’s a tough gig no matter where you are

I wanted some feed and analysis after the game last night so tuned onto 6pr (of there's a better station I'm all ears), anyway first caller was an Eagles supporter who only rang to say and I quote " Eagles man here, only rang to stir the pot, what a great game that was".

I really want to smash these campaigners on the weekend so I can ring up karl Langdon and say... "Freo man here, only rang to stir the pot, what a great game that was".

You do that, mate, and I'll let him know you rang when he finishes making me my morning coffee. It's my show and I do the talking.

And FYI, there is no better station than pr because that's the only one I'm on.

And to twist the knife in further this weekend, the West Coast are carving up the Giants with a list that is aged and inferior (alledgedly) to ours, who were staring down a bottom 3 spot while we were supposedly earmarked for a top 4 finish this season….

This is a great post and I hope it gets put in an email or the club see it. All of those things would be fairly easy to fix, and most importantly provide great value to members not located in WA.

The added benefit would be you telling people how great it is and we would get more members.

Surprisingly constructive post in a vent thread.

Sorry that is what the experience is though mate.

How bout the fact we could have drafted Darling, but picked Jayden Pitt instead, and we paid through the nose for hogan just to give him away free, and every year he played for a team other than Freo, he's basically averaged 2 goals a game?

Or how about everyone on BigFooty Freo was laughing at the eagles for drafting Liam Ryan?

Or how about we just paid the same damn club that we got Hogan from, a bunch of draft picks and our future, for another damn key forward who has taken 1 mark in 2 games?

Which makes 3 times they've screwed us over in trade week if you count Mitch Clarke. I remember I was on holiday and I saw the club website put up an article saying mitch wanted to play for freo or something, maybe he was even wearing a freo shirt? Does anyone else remember this or am I imagining it?

Have we met?

What do you think Freo needs to do Brad?
Winning a ****ing game would be a good start.

Perhaps they need some training in how to be winners. I might look at branching out into that field if the world ever gets bored of listening to the best sports brain in the game. Yes, yours ****ing truly.

Anyway, if you want to hear the true nitty gritty, you're welcome to listen in. Now **** off, I'm trying to work out how to spell daybarkle.
