JL’s and the selection committees conservative approach to things is going to set us a back several years of list progression if this is left unchecked.

Banfield, Hughes, Taberner will not be playing in Fremantle first premiership, grow some balls and make the big calls. Why draft natural forwards if we are not willing to give them an extended period of experience in the AFL and choose WAFL plodders over them again and again.

Don’t even get me started on the complete bust that is Liam Henry.

Henry at best should be last chance.

Banfield in is frustrating. Ras needs to be developed and I am certain could play HFF and provide something if swung into the midfield.

You contradict yourself. As at the same time you want us blooding youth, you want to give up on Liam Henry getting any continuity. He's 21 and a first round pick, and played his third game on the wing. We need to give him a bit more time.

I do agree though on Tabs, Hughes and Banfield though. While we're a finals and premiership chance, unfortunetly I think Jlo is going to be risk averse. One positive if we keep losing, it will surely open the door for Sturt, Earsmus, Treacy and co.

But we aren't a premiership chance with him in the team.

Banfield isn't as good as Johnson or Brodie or Erasmus or Sturt. They need development he's had development.

He can't even kick a football. JLO picks a guy with shit skills over others with better skills. That simply doesn't make sense

Go back and look at the last few premierships, every premier had a few spuds in their team, it is a matter of them playing their role and sacrificing for the team.

Banfield in and Henry stays after last week.

Telling me that banfield will be more useful than Brodie, Johnson and Ras even Sturt?

Play the youth or play the crabs Jlo?

I choose 🦀

It is possible to both football and sacrifice for the team, though. Those things aren't mutually exclusive. You don't have to be a spud to be a role player. Ryan Crowley was a perfectly good footballer.

Sorry, just realised this is the vent thread and I shouldn't be using it for discussion.

Lol
I reckon Pav's grandson will be our veteran captain when we win our first flag.

Replacing Frederick with Banfield is just plain stupid.

Sturt is the natural replacement for Frederick, high impact play who doesn’t need a ton of possessions to help benefit the team.

I was hoping if they dropped Henry, Sturt and Frederick could both play, splitting their time between HHF and wing, no we don’t get either.

Match committee need a rocket up them.

Vent over

Fair point Penny but I believe Henry has been given enough continuity to see he is a bust.

I was just going to re-iterate that I couldn't believe we traded a future first and then the ass end fell out, but who am I kidding, that's exactly what you would expect from this club. Just when you thought we're on the straight and narrow we balls it up.

We are absolute **** and there is no rainbow of shiny drafts picks to compensate. Just bulk losses playing awful football and nothing to look forward to. Well done Freo, you've outdone yourself.

It's now a development year. We're not coming back from 1-3 out of the easiest part of the (hard) draw. Piss off anyone over 27 that isn't actually good.

Sack JLo and the clown that thought the Jackson deal was a good idea, find a way back into the draft this year (not at the expense of next year) and draft some ****ing forwards. Not half back flankers, not 180cm mids, forward. Blokes that find a way to put it through the big sticks (see B.Banfield).

If the next coach is defensive, I am becoming a Suns supporter. They are probably more hopeless than us overall but at least they always have draft bounties to look forward to.
