I agree he's a keeper with massive upside. Just answering the question on who clubs may target.

I was about to say that.. :D
The question wasn't who to get rid of with currency.. It's who they might target.

I rate Garlett highly.. More then Matera..
Could be very Lewis Jetta like with a touch of Cyril

How do they both fair if we draft say an Ainsworth....

Fair enough, according to Corkie we are looking to trade Matera, that would surely open a best 22 spot for Garlett. I remember when he was drafted, the Suns were the team he wanted to go to most.

I can't believe how well we played.. It looked early 2014 like.
All year I've been looking towards the draft top 3-4pick.

And then O'Meara plays.

Now I'm like ****. Do I want good draft picks or do I want to win asmuch as possible and make O'Meara beg to stay!!

I'm now I'm in the let's destroy every team so Jäeger thinks his best shot at a premiership is here at the Suns with his best mates!

Feck the draft. Our picks will be used on academy players anyhows.

I will throw in a smokey.

With the critical lack of tall defenders in the competition (not much in the draft and 3-5 years needed to get up to standard) I reckon Jack Leslie might be a player that would attract the interest of rival clubs.

Leslie is out of contract and has not been given many chances over the journey.

He would be the equal of many key defenders getting an opportunity elsewhere.

If we move on Jack Leslie it would be a massive mistake. I already rate him above Thompson, his NEAFL numbers are excellent and he is still filling out.

Hi Iva Bigun

I agree with you that Leslie leaving would be a massive mistake.

However it looks like May/Thompson are always secure in getting a game which makes it hard for anyone to showcase their wares.

Every club requires 4 KPD's on their list to cover injuries and lack of form.

If you were Leslie and another club approached you (in particular if it was in your home state)with a view to giving you more opportunity at senior level it would be a difficult offer to knock back.

There are a lack of KPD's going around which makes them attractive to opposition clubs.

I agree if I was him I would be looking around, I think it's a big mistake that the club hasn't given him more game time

Hi Iva Bigun

I would be really interested in your opinion on this one.

It was mentioned by Brereton that Vickery was not a premiership player and therefore Richmond would be best to move on without him.

In the instance of the GCS are there players that although getting a game are of the same calibre.

My base model is Hawthorn. That is would that particular GCS "player" have the attributes for HFC to give them game time.

Garlett just kicked 4 goals and had 9 tackles haven't we been asking Matera to do that for 5 years?
No way should Garlett be let go, i see massive potential in the future.
For a light 2nd year kid who's had injury issues to overcome, 9 tackles is impressive. Has always shown glimpses of quality.

Edit -

How do they both fair if we draft say an Ainsworth....
Ainsworth is only comparable in that they can play both smaller forward roles. At this stage they look different types to me, Ainsworth is more strongly built, aggressive and I think would play further up the field sooner.

Besides, the competition for that role would be gr8 for the club.

Had a good chat to Prestia, said he wants to stay but just got the normal just letting the manager deal with the contract situation garbage, he spent most of the time texting someone by the name of S Goodwin all night

Goodwins a gambling man. He is more then welcome to take a punt on Prestia expect to give the Suns a top deal though.
He'll be sure to lose.. Like he always has.

Just going to put it out there. Damn I love satay house at metricon. Best variety of food all around at any stadium in qld. If only the beers were a couple of dollars cheaper

How much time off during the week do our players get ?.
We have a big game this weekend at home again cross town rivals and Tom Nicholls has been in Sydney for the past two days.
The afl need to get rid of the stupid players association crap and make the players earn their money

Ok, I've been stewing on this for a few weeks. Charlie Dixon.. Club tells us all he's a 12-14 game a year player, yet since leaving us I don't think he's missed a game. I've always defended the club, and how we've handled things. But I feel the proof of how inept our medical department were is right there.

It's concerning with the handling of now Omeara, Swallow, and to a lesser extent Prestia with their injury troubles

2011: 10 games
2012: 12 games
2013: 13 games
2014: 14 games
2015: 16 games
2016: 14 (so far)
Obviously he is playing more and more games each year and on track to play 18 or so this year.
He kicked 41 goals from 16 games last year but only 30 this year from 14 games this year in a better team to ours last year. Maybe Dixon's injuries are behind him, maybe saying he was injury prone was an excuse to get rid of him when we had Peter Wright waiting?
