And we owe them for the beating they gave us at Metricon earlier in the year.We play Melbourne next week. A win would be awesome.
Don't think I want to give up pick 5 for a player that can't make the Giants team but there is definitely a treasure trove of Giants down there for some other picks. And we owe them for the beating they gave us at Metricon earlier in the year.
If we can somehow win this then Melbourne are a big chance to drop to 13th giving us pick 5 we should be looking to off load that pick for a quality player in the age bracket Rocket has indicated. Personally I hope we are in the ear of a few out of favour Giants
I am just thinking that our 1st rounders this year are wasted as matching a bid on Bowes may eat up pick 4 and some of the Melbourne pick dropping it out of the first round. We wound get more for them by trading them for ready made players or future picks.Don't think I want to give up pick 5 for a player that can't make the Giants team but there is definitely a treasure trove of Giants down there for some other picks.
Any ideas Iva, as to who we could get and what we would have to give up?
Well they might think they know but an example of where we didn't was last year when we did the silly deal with Melbourne, we gave up pick 3 (and 10) as we wanted Oliver and felt 3 was too high and he would still be available at 6. Melbourne then took him with the very pick we gave them FLABAGASTING we then took Achee at 6 when he wasn't rated by most in the top 10. We also completely stuffed up the Harley trade and got nothing for a gun, he might be troubled but so are many playersCheers Iva, it's a tough one. Whitfield is a good player but not sure we are after his type of game. Hoskin-Elliott might be worth taking a risk with (He is so enigmatic, but might turn out to be inconsistent his whole career) not keen to give up pick 5 though.
As long as Bowes doesn't go number one then pick 4 will look after him with the 20% discount but I'm hopeful Bowes will go closer to 5 than 1. I read somewhere a few years back that each club knows what the other is going to do as it gets close to the draft, so hopefully that is the case this year because the permultations are endless, especially with Jaeger and Dion unsigned thus far.
I thought we got Fremantles first pick for Bennell.Well they might think they know but an example of where we didn't was last year when we did the silly deal with Melbourne, we gave up pick 3 (and 10) as we wanted Oliver and felt 3 was too high and he would still be available at 6. 16 and 35 for Harley AND 22, that's a shit deal in anyone's language IMOI thought we got Fremantles first pick for Bennell.
Pardon my ignorance if untrue.
BUT we got rid of Harley.16 and 35 for Harley AND 22, that's a shit deal in anyone's language IMO
Basically gave up Harley for a 6 spot upgrade in the draft
I hope you're right, still think the club should of been able to straighten him out, flogging him off was not a great lookBUT we got rid of Harley.
We'll look back in 5 years and say that it was one of the best decisions the club ever made.
OK didn't realise that's pretty average but he was highly tainted which drove his value down.16 and 35 for Harley AND 22, that's a shit deal in anyone's language IMO

As harsh as it sounds mate, Some people are beyond saving. No disrespect intended but we got what we could for Harley and hope that sending him home straightens him out.I hope you're right, still think the club should of been able to straighten him out, flogging him off was not a great look
He's not in Melbourne, chances drop by 20%

If 2MP kicks a bag against Melb this wknd, it might just sway it his way. Be a big effort to kick 4 plus down at the G though.Correct
Petracca had it won the second he pulled on a Melbourne guernsey
Makes Jaeger's win even more impressive. He's not in Melbourne, chances drop by 20%
You know 6 of the last 8 winners have been from non Victorian clubs, including the not so great Lewis Taylor... so not sure why the claims of bias... 2MP has a big chance and this wknds game could be the Catalyst...Makes Jaeger's win even more impressive.
Don't put facts and logic up against my rantYou know 6 of the last 8 winners have been from non Victorian clubs, including the not so great Lewis Taylor... so not sure why the claims of bias... 2MP has a big chance and this wknds game could be the Catalyst...
Correct

You do understand we do not actually exist - we are not Victorian - not West Aust nor Sth Aust - so injured or not we wouldn't effect anything anyway..!Sick of commentators and Bulldogs fans saying the Dogs have a "injury curse" and using that as an excuse for losing yet it's apparently no excuse for us?
