Couldn't agree more with your analogy of sustained non success, its not a point system and has been tweaked with many times (over 36 years), unfortunately it hasn't worked out, i can assume we all want the Flag as much as each other, being rationale about it doesn't make apologies or rose glasses, just balanced and IMO more likely to get that Flag sooner rather than later!

I've dealt with plenty of TAC Cup players. including one or two in my own family, they're all just happy to get drafted and realise, as much as they wopuld like it, they have a mere 5.5 per cent chance of landing at the club they support.
Even if Heppell had left after two years, his trade value would have been significantly more than Conca's has ever been, including what Conca wouold fetch now ... which I remind you is nothing!

Unless they're a top 10 talent and supported GWS and live in NSW and it becomes 100%

Friction causes micro fibres from the clothing you wear to get caught in your body hair, and the direction your body hair points causes the fibres to flow towards your belly button

Most people notice lint when they wear dark textiles, hence the myth its blue
