**** everyone.

I've had to put my trip off until later this year due to family reasons and the fact the Federal Government apparently doesn't include me as an Australian Citizen even though i have a aussie birth certificate and passport????

Did you apply for a foreign passport prior to 2002? Plenty of Aussies have done this to get the precious red passport.

If so, you may have unknowingly forefeited your Aussie citizenship as until that time dual nationality was not recognised (read the last page in your passport). There were rumours a few years ago that this clause should have sunk Tony Abbott. Perhaps the intel was wrong or perhaps some pollies on both sides decided it was way too hot a potato.

Alternatively joining the armed forces of a country at war with Australia will see your citizenship revoked (this clause dates way before the rule changes about joining ISIS).

Good luck.

An Australian passport is NOT proof of citizenship, If you were born in Papua New Guinea prior to 1975 in which case you would have an Australian birth certificate, you can get an Aussie passport but not citizenship.

If you were born in Australia you automatically acquire citizenship.

Not quite right anymore. Since 1986 if you don't have an Australian parent (citizen/PR) and are born in Australia you only get Aussie citizenship on your 10th birthday.

Also prior to 1949 all Aussies were considered 'British Subjects" as there (incredibly) was no such thing as Australian citizenship before then.

Is your name Jason Bourne??!

Mate that's weird. Might be worth a call to your local pollie. They love this kind of stuff.

that's pretty close to spot on, I had the aussie high comm telling me I arrived in Australia prior to being born, the electoral commission telling me I was overseas when I was standing in their office, and customs and immigration telling me I hadn't returned to Australia when I was trying to fly out of the country.

if you campaigners had voted for the australia card when hawke wanted it we wouldn't have this sort of shit, now we have at least half a dozen profiles within govt departments and none of the departments talk to each other.

Further to this if you were born in Great Britain prior to 1949 and that would exclude most of us on here apart from Tiger Toffee ;) you automatically acquire Australian citizenship.
Ah those were the days good ol 1840, memories. :D

Can this club just do something of note this year? I am sick of talking about the players' potentials nearly every year rather than talk about their significant achievements on the field.

We spend much of the off-season arguing about which of player X or player Y is better in a position on here only for the both of them ending up below standard anyway.

Just do something

I am not having a go at the supporters for talking about players' potentials. I am sick of many of those players not doing what we think they can do year in year out and the club in general failing a lot. Like, I have been going for this club for about 15 years and I have not even seen this club win a final. Meanwhile, every club except for Gold Coast have won a final in that time.

Just win a final Richmond

I have to admit though that I was happy (even until now) with them making finals 3 years in a row because it is not only the finals that are entertaining. The process of getting there is too because you win much more than you lose. So, it is not like I didn't see success at all in my time following Richmond.

But still

Wow, you went through those years ay. I imagine that Richmond supporters in those days had no clue that this kind of failure was yet to come because they were so used to Richmond being a successful side.

Mark these as givens .......
Shane Edwards to be most improved.
Ben Griffiths to have a long awaited breakout year.
Shai Bolton will easily have the most impact of ALL AFL players drafted last year.
Hampson to become elite, while averaging four possessions and one mark per game.
Caddy to be our best recruit from Geelong since Graeme Landy.
Jake Batchelor to become the best half back flanker in the game.
Ben Lennon to silence the knockers.
Damien Hardwick to reinvent himself as a mix of Tom Hafey, David Parkin and Ron Barrassi.
And was going to say Prestia makes us forget Deledio until I realised Prestia was already better than Deledio four years ago.
