This sort of justification of being negative is crap IMO..

Reality is we are all Tigers supporters who haven't seen success in many decades... We ALL want success and flags, absolutely no doubt..

Potting the club for all and sundry is just fools gold and counter productive to the good that we are doing in some areas.

Each administration owns their period so to lump it all together and say we have been awful for 36 years the board must go is nonsense, obviously people have opinions on THEIR period and that's a fair discussion point, each to their own and inevitably disagreements will occur.

We all want success, some stay positive and some cant, that's the reality, trying to depress everyone and essentially state we are crap and have been for so long so of course its going to be true going forward is ridiculous...

More balance required on both sides, however the preseason is for every club a time to dream of the potential season ahead, so to spend months calling supporters out about past 36 years is not only poor but for above reasons nonsense!!
He has a point though apart from 95 we have totally been crap. Boards have been crap recruiting has been terrible and new regime came in with promises only we end up the same.
People this time of the year should dream like you say but some people just cant forget the failures. Only and only when we become the feared tigers we once were all this negativity will go away. Its up to the powers be to get things right as like you say as supporters we can only dream. Trust me walking around with my rfc gear be a cap scarf and be laughed and joked about is not a laughing matter it gets to the stage where it hurts.

Yes its a point we are all so aware of, and if we forget as you said opposition supporters can remind us.. (I have an 8 year old son who loves the tigers, so I understand your pain when walking around in a scarf etc).

To hear it from one of our own as a broken record and to justify why 2017 and beyond will be a train wreck and how everything we are doing is wrong is downright nonsense and slight annoying.

Yeah that's why you probably find us so vocal on here and think were just whinging. When you are used to success failure for long periods can have an impact.
From 75 till 79 we went through a bad spell but we got out of it and won the flag in 80 only for collingwood to bud there noses in and stuff up our playing list and the rest is history.

'75 we came within two kicks of being in the grand final and finished third; '77 we won an elimination final and finished fourth.
I would take those now.
I'm not sure Collingwood stuffed our list - we self imploded.

But you would agree every other team has had a more recent opportunity to break their grand final drought than we have?

Recent to me is a 5 year period. So no, every other team has not had better chances then us. We did make finals 3 of the last 4, thats more then other sides can say.

Yeah we failed to win one. Mostly due to coaching imo. This year we have brought in some real talent both off field and on field. So our current chance to taste success in the now and few years from now is as good as other sides.

Whatever!
Simple fact is that we hold the unenviable record of being the team who has gone the longest without a grand final berth.
Dress it up however you like, it is what it is.
Melbourne have played in a grand final more recently than us; St Kilda ... all of them. All of them!

who is going to 'admit' that we are better than them when statistically fitzroy has had a more successful past 35 years.

Aren't you the guy who wanted to change teams and support the Western Bulldogs?

Yeah i totally agree goldy can get on anyone nerves sometimes but i'm sure he means well just more frustrated then most.

Interesting...Melbourne's current era of "success" started in 1965 and St Kilda's in 1967.

Since our last grand final appearance, how many many grand final appearances have those teams made? How many times have they got to the preliminary finals? I can count the number of times we have done both of those combined on my middle finger.

Not dressing anything, you are by drawing a line only where it suits your argument. 81 instead of 80 lol. My point is this, yes we have had a long drought but ask saints fans, success is not defined about playing in grandfinals but winning them! On that score, as from MODERN history, we are not the worse performed side...you just cant admit it.

So who is dressing what up ? :p

Just on this.

Gold dust is OK in my book. He never plays the man, he just has a counter view and is passionate about it, as anyone else should be as passionate about there views, and to be honest i enjoy it. Others are obvious trolls that say counter argument just to see who bites but Dust is not one of those posters.

All true. I do not play the man but am passionate about where this club has erred.
To illustrate, I found it ironic that Graeme Richmond was voted administrator of the century during our centenary year.
There is little doubt he was pure genius for two decades but the same bloke took about seven years to totally f*** the joint as well and bring it to its knees.
Not a popular view but not going to post something to be popular or because everyone thinks only positives should be posted.

Mark these as givens .......
Shane Edwards to be most improved.
Ben Griffiths to have a long awaited breakout year.
Shai Bolton will easily have the most impact of ALL AFL players drafted last year.
Hampson to become elite, while averaging four possessions and one mark per game.
Caddy to be our best recruit from Geelong since Graeme Landy.
Jake Batchelor to become the best half back flanker in the game.
Ben Lennon to silence the knockers.
Damien Hardwick to reinvent himself as a mix of Tom Hafey, David Parkin and Ron Barrassi.
And was going to say Prestia makes us forget Deledio until I realised Prestia was already better than Deledio four years ago.
Not forgetting

Conca having his best preseason ever , which funnily enough appears to be a bit of truth in it. ;)

Having an opposing view is not being a troll. Myself I am looking at the clubs performance in a purely objective way. In my life (and a sizeable period prior) we have made and won the fewest finals, and have a grand final appearance drought twice as long as the next club. Objectively that makes us the worst performed club of my life.

I never said having a opposing view makes you a troll. What i said trolls are obvious.

It's normal for Gen Y to think they deserve everything in life.

Harden up a bit and when we do win it will be great because you can look people in the eye and tell them that at least you you were there when we were shit.

Or you can go support Footscray. Like you were going to last year.

I'm not going to support footscray, but I'm certainly going to watch them more than I watch us this year because they are a much better side to watch play.
