That was a great read!
We were at the game, and it truly was so exciting to see the Bullants get that first win. VFL is so up-close and personal; it’s so much fun!
🐜🐜 😁
PCO is one of the real old-time suburban grounds ...and in reasonable nick, this season given how it has been presented the last few years, the year off did it some good.

Guess no Thursday night vfl footy
Leaving it late to finalise for this upcoming round
First game likely to be Geelong vs Essendon on Friday

It was never intended that every team would play every team

Wodonga Raiders in the strong Ovens & Murray League are searching for a new coach for season 2022 and beyond. The Raiders have managed to play finals every season since 2015 and are currently sitting in 5th position again 2 games clear inside the top 5. The 3rds are in 3rd position and the Raiders have the biggest amount of teams participating in the Albury Wodonga Junior Football League with 2 sides in each age group.
Healthy remuneration and relocation assistance will be offered and job opportunities will be provided for the successful applicant and partner if required.
If you would be interested in discussing this opportunity please call Stephen on 0439 464 353

The Bullants were great yesterday. Everyone was keeping a lid on it after the Carlton win just hoping to be competitive against the Tigers.

But the Ants were really professional about it and never really looked like giving up their lead.

The stats were a little misleading - the most telling one was the Ants winning stoppage clearances, and around the ground too. Wilson leading the charge, of course. Hughes and the mids dominant.

Richmond couldn’t get their run game game consistently. When they did, they looked unstoppable but mostly they either messed it up or the Ants broke them down before they could get in to full flow.

It was really windy for the first half or so too - Richmond’s first goal of the second quarter was a helicopter punt from about 60 metres.

Sydney Stack looked a class above for Richmond, Matthew Parker good as well.

Maurice Rioli’s goal worth a look too https://www.afl.com.au/video/642081...dal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1625360716001

I’m working on the match summary (life got in the way this weekend) for the Ants website. Will post the link here too for those inclined.

So 12 rounds in, and Willy and Port have only played 6 games with 4 byes each.

There are teams in lower divisions of metropolitan leagues who have played more games.

Willy have played once since May 13 (yes, 2 games were lost to Covid).

Why couldn't Willy play Werribee on the weekend when both had byes (Willy already played Port twice).

Covid aside, the fixturing and VFL season has been a farce and it better improve next season if the comp continues in its current state.

To me it's pretty obvious it won't be continuing in its current state

It could be said that Southport have taken to playing at VFL level very well when you look at the ladder. Hopefully covid restrictions don't play havoc with the premiership prospects from here.
I have enjoyed watching them play but at the moment they have only played two non-NEAFL sides; North who they rightfully pasted and a scratchy come from behind win against Carlton (which was impressive don't get me wrong).

Need to see them against come quality Vic opposition before making a ruling for mine.
