Don't you think it's great that there is some representative football available? Everyone seems so hung up on the fixture... It looks like we are in for a great season of state league football, with a massive influx of talent and what looks like strong retention. Let's focus on that?

I get the sentiment but the future of the competition is closely intertwined with the very existence of many of these standalone clubs, including my own. The fact that we don't know what the future holds means it's an ever present concern.

Besides, there's bugger all news to talk about right now anyway.

No one knows what the future holds, so what's the point worrying about it. Frankston, and I think all the stand alone clubs, looked to have improved in the off-season... that's a good sign for the future

I have some lingering concerns for our financial situation, but yes, Frankston and a lot of the standalones seem to be on the rise. Although i still fear for the Bullants.

I still think it's worthwhile to point out the competition's shortcomings and how things could be done better, even if I sound like more of a broken record than anyone else here. I didn't grow up during the VFA's halcyon days but I hear people talk about how it used to be and I'll always look for ways to revive some small element of that.
