Yeah our ground is out of commission due to works being done on the playing surface. The official completion date is the 11th of April with plans to hold our first home game around Anzac Day. In the meantime the men's team are training at Belvedere and the wonen's teams train at Kananook Reserve.
The surface is elite , im surprised it needs work , maybe over use

It'll be interesting to see what ground will be used for the standalone carnival.

From what I heard there were some drainage issues that warranted the ground being dug up. It's apparently also being done to make the ground more adaptable for non-footy events such as soccer and rugby. They've also put down a layer of concrete along the boundary area between the interchange benches and the goals at the bay end, and rebuilt the retaining wall in front of the home changerooms.

Hopefully it's the last time for a while that this needs to happen. For years we've been forced to run preseasons at alternate venues because the council would have the turf redone each summer, this past year we finally get to train and host practice matches on our own ground, and now the men are at Belvedere again while the girls don't even have any changerooms at Kananook. And on top of that we won't get a home game until around Anzac Day. I just hope it's worth the trouble.

I've attached a few photos of the ground that I've taken over the past month.

Any news as to whether Charlie Thompson is returning to Coburg after returning home from a stint with Perth in the WAFL?
It was announced nearly a month ago he had signed full time with Wangaratta Rovers.

I've heard a few whispers he left Coburg in the first place because he didn't like what had come of the new look VFL post covid

Again just a 18 game season with 4 byes. Also GF on Sunday yet again. Most likely the state of origin will be in Adelaide. Obviously not listening to the hardcore VFL fans.

They’re coming from a fair way back, but Carlton, Coburg, Port and Collingwood all look to have made significant improvements to their lists.

Good for the comp if the bottom tier can rise a few rungs and compete more regularly

Collingwood have lost a fair few as have Port Melbourne. Who is going to kick goals for Port with no Billy Gowers?

Unless port can sign a key forward there will be expectation for Signorello and Manton to show further improvements. Benedetto I expect will be a significant scoreboard contributor but I tend to agree that Port risks squandering all their good work should they not be able to sign a key forward and you can also ad a key ruckman to that Christmas wish list.

Jimmy Miller according to some sources has headed back to WA

Hopefully reports are from an inaccurate source, would be a big loss and a hard player to replace. Should the rumours be true then Port has lost 2 of its top 3 best and fairest players. Can’t be too many spaces left on Ports list, they have recruited heavily.

Looks like VFL vs SANFL April 12. After round 3 in the VFL, some teams will have 2 weeks off, ridiculous.
Don't you think it's great that there is some representative football available? Everyone seems so hung up on the fixture... It looks like we are in for a great season of state league football, with a massive influx of talent and what looks like strong retention. Let's focus on that?
