I started thinking yesterday that it would be great to see a match played where the best players from all the Victorian clubs played a team full of the Best Players from all the other clubs. I think it would be great to see all the stars of AFL play in one big game. Im not sure if anyone else has thought of this (im sure they have) but i personally think it would be a great match.

Non Victorian Teams
Adelaide Crows
Brisbane Lions
Fremantle Dockers
Port Adelaide Power
Sydney Swans
West Coast Eagles

Victorian Teams
Carlton Blues
Collingwood Magpies
Essendon Bombers
Geelong Cats
Hawthorn Hawks
Melbourne Demons
North Melbourne Kangaroos
Richmond Tigers
St Kilda Saints
Western Bulldogs

The great thing about this is that while the non Victorian teams are generally better there are more Victorian teams which ballances it out. Does anyone else like this idea or am i the only one?

What we need instead is a State of Origin match. Victoria vs Rest of Australia

We've never had a match in the history of football where the best players in the country are all involved in one game. Next year is the 150 year anniversary of the sport. Do it.

The other states all want to play and beat Victoria. It's not about their own states winning - it's about Victorian losing and that is proved by having SA vs WA at Football Park getting 19,000 yet when Victoria is the opponent the ground is full. It's the opponent (Victoria) that draws the passion because it's who everyone wants to beat. If the South Aussies were there to see ther own side, how come there was only 19,000 when they played WA?

Victoria has always been the key to S.O.O. Always.

State of Origin: Victoria vs Australia. The highest standard single game of Aussie Rules that has ever been played. It's time. It's long, long overdue.

I agree except not state of origin but instead team you play for. Victorian Teams vs Non Victorian Teams. I would so love the best players from the Swans, Eagles and Crows to be in the one team and it would be amazing viewing for all concerned.

no one wants State Of Oranges - players don't want to play in it, coaches don't want to risk players in it and the fans see it as a meaningless exhibition game where their best players are at risk of injury, and for what? the state your parents conceived you in...bah..

lets just get the competition proper right first....more rounds and extra split rounds would be a start...

Victoria vs South Australia
real State of Origin

why should it be vics vs the rest... the world doesnt revolve around victoria

Because in Aussie Rules everyone wants to play Victoria in S.O.O. That's just the reality.

It also allows for ONE game to be played with the best players in the country all being involved.

If you have Victoria vs South Australia, what happens to the best players from all the other states?

As far as "State of Origin" is invloved the world does revolve arouud Victoria and always has. Everyone wants to play and beat the Vics. Has there ever been a successful S.O.O game that hasn't involved Victoria?

If Rugby League can do something simular why cant the AFL. They could hold the game afew weeks after the Grand Final so if a player gets a injury it isnt a problem.

rugby league is a 2 state sport (forget melb storm, its just a location) somehow these blockheads can play 3 games of league in a week. they have also built it up into a marqee event - SOO died when Teddy passed and the game became truly national.

If you include B.Hall and possibly T.Kennelly then that would be a brilliant team and i would love to see them play.

Cox will definatley start in the ruck, if not lade, not sure sandilands is quite up to the level of that team yet also not sure if chad fletcher is either. I reckon you might be able to squeeze A. Embley in there. Maybe a wirrapanda aswell.

Either way, I really don;t think an all VIC clubs team would get anywhere near that side.

It would be awesome. No premierships and no SOO victories for Victoria as well.

Victoria is having a bad run at the moment.

How many Vic's in the Aussie cricket side? Is it just Mike Hussey (originally a western australian), and Hodge?
