That's the one. Used a free VPN service to make it think I was in Brazil.

Chrome has an auto-translate feature.
Ahh cheeky. Will investigate for the future.

SOON!

Avoided paying the bullshit Australia Tax too. Got my CDKEY from a Brazilian site and paid less than half the Aussie rate.
I played the opening cinematic, set up and one turn while eating brekkie this morning. Can't wait to get stuck in.

That opening cinematic is both heart wrenching (as father and daughter are separated) and so hopeful.
The decision to make the protagonist of the piece a young (also presumably) Muslim Central Asian woman was box breaking stuff. Stick that up ya Gamergate rednecks. Wonderful stuff. If you're up for some (very) minor spoilers check it out below.

How large is the download from Steam?

I just re-downloaded Civ 5 for some procrastination greatness
It said 45gb but the pre-load seemed less. Only based on mental arithmetic I was semi-paying attention to as I cleared space on the hdd.

Well, that rules me out from Steam download. I am on a 8 gig plan :(
Looks like Steam lied to me when I went to preload intially. Only 8GB but you probably still need a disc copy.

Have to share this moment from Forza Horizon 2 I had on the weekend. This is how you pass that guy who has been annoying you all race.

So GOG.com has managed to secure the rights to the Lucasarts back catalogue and they have just released their first batch of games, including X-Wing, TIE Fighter and Sam & Max: Hit the Road which I believe have never been released in a digital format before.

Things have come a long way since I was unable to run the CD version of Sam & Max on my computer back in the day because of problems having enough DOS memory available.

You kids today don't know how easy you have it...

I can finish Sam & Max Hit the Road with my eyes shut. What a game.

Would be interested to see what they've done with X-Wing and Tie Fighter. It's impossible to get the original versions of those games running well on a modern PC. As cavalcade of issues. Hopefully they have solved the soundtrack issues.

From what I've read it seems like they run fine and you even get both the DOS and Windows releases.

But not the 1995 CD-ROM Edition. Far out, why would they withhold what is by far the ultimate version of the game.

Just went from pumped to deflated in the space of 5 mins :/

Yeah, I'm guessing they want to space out the releases.

I'm not sure I can go back and Tie Fighter still ranks in my Top 5 of all time. I loved that game but I am such a graphics snob these days I'm not sure if I can get over it.

Yes I am shallow. I know this.

Still holds up.

A new Star Wars space sim set in the original trilogy timeline would be beyond amazing though.

Hopefully SW Rebels goes gang busters and they do it. Not that Disney has the best history of turning out good games from the franchises it owns.

I loved X-Wing and Tie Fighter even though I never had a joystick and just played with mouse. Descent Freespace and Freespace II took the crown for me though in regards to actual space combat.

Oh and I have to give props to Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis... one of my favorite adventure games of all time and three different playstyles are all worth giving a crack.
