I just grabbed New Vegas and Skyrim: Legendary for the new Laptop....

Shortly after that I discovered the joys of mods....

Can anyone please tell me what this Real Life thing people refer too? I could google it, but I need to dash out to Whiterun!

Been playing a bit of counter strike (GO) with friends recently. I reckon there are more people than you'd think using wall hacks. The less obvious ones just plainly look at walls to find people.

Still fun playing with a few friends. Only other issue is that the maps, especially the older ones, can be fairly lopsided.

Didn't play a heap of Skyrim... might throw that on the stocking filler list for Xmas, espeically with my pretty new vid card. Old one didn't run it overly crash hot.

Despite having new eye candy, i'm back playing borderlands 2 at the minute. I did love that game and sunk over 100 hours into it. Bought the season pass for it, but never got around to playing any of the DLC. They all came out around the time i moved to the new house with a crap net connection, so couldn't really download them to play them.

Hoping to play through some of the DLC in preparation for the pre-sequel, which looks awesome.

Man, game mods are awesome.

For those with Skyrim on PC and are like me, not convinced about the Companions storyline, there is a great mod where you truely need to work your way into the group rather than do one or two quests and then get promoted into the leadership.

The only thing that disturbs me is the rather fetching mods some users come up with for these games. Oh my!

I've broken too many saves on mods to want to use them anymore. Having said that, I've lost games to bad Bethseda bugs as well.

Never been able to take the mods seriously myself. Have been playing Elder Scrolls since Daggerfall and everything has to be official for me. The mods feel like fan fiction :p

Immersion bro...

The Companions Mod is less fan fiction, more getting realistic.

I'm also playing New Vegas at the moment. Less mod crazy. The game is fairly solid without needing major mods

Time to get this thread pumping. Let's just post shit about games we are really excited about.

First up for me...

CIVILIZATION : BEYOND EARTH
PC
October 24, 2014.

Civilization in Space. Meier tried this with Alpha Centauri years ago but it was a bit dry, this looks way more well-realised. Pumped.

Ditto on Beyond Earth. Have nearly preordered about 3 times now.
For me it is still Dragon Age Inquisition.

Oh and I'm playing the hell out of Destiny. It is poodle of the game world, exciting, nice to look at and low allergenic, but not a lot going on up top.

Briefly tried the first Dragon Age on 360 and it didnt grab me, which bothers me because Bioware RPGs are right up my alley.

I've been hankering for a good RPG lately. Maybe I should try again. Should I definitely start with the first? Should I go PC instead of Console?

Yeah I would strongly recommend them. Start with Origins and make sure you play Awakening (the expansion). Most of the DLC doesn't really add to the main story arc so you can pick and choose from that.

Same with DA2 - the expansions are mostly forgettable unless you are a ridiculous Felicia Day fan.

PC is the way to go, although I have to confess I am conflicted about whether to go XBone or PC for Inquisition.

On Origins I finished the noble human path, but I kind of feel the Dwarf Noble path has the most interesting story. Or city elf.

I'm with you on this TBD. I was excited by Dragon Age in theory, but when I got around to playing it, it never hooked me. I've tried to get started a couple of times after my first play stalled.

I went to Redcliffe Castle first and I just couldn't defeat the enemies there and assumed I was shit at the game. I talked to a mate about it and he said that it was the hardest of the three areas I could go to, and that I probably should have gone to the elf forest or something first. That just pissed me off that the game design didn't let me know that a particular area was more difficult than the others.

When I've attempted to go back, I've just been annoyed at how ugly the game was and none of the characters really hooked me.
