Talk about overrating your own. You include Goddard who hasnt even had a debut, but exclude a bunch of Carlton youth who you probably havent seen play. The voice of reason.

I dont know where he will pick. Carlton dont seem like a great destination right now. I would think his father would persuade him towards Carlton, but there will be other factors at play.
the fact that carltons hope relies upon his rices father is the funniest thing i have read on BF in a long time.

its a BF opinion, but look at the poll :p:p:p:p:p

Goddard is 18, a KPP, and was a 1st rd selection. Without being a dickhead, which 18 year old first round picks does Carlton have?

Oh snap! Yes because every 18 year old pick 21 goes on to be a superstar - and every draft pick who is over 18 is always a bust.

i know we should of drafted a 21 year old with a late 1st round pick :mad::mad::mad:

Without being a dickhead, how old was Tom Lee when you gave up pick 12 for him?

Without being a dickhead, how old was Tom Hickey when you gave up pick 13 (and others) for him?

And surely Billy Longer Must have been 18 when you gave up pick 25 for him (only 4 picks later than the pick you used on Goddard).

Stating he was 18 years old and a key position player was an explanation of why he isn't playing, not a jab at Carlton. You said Dewah was biased for saying Goddard would make it while other Carlton youth wouldn't, but the truth is you don't have an 18yo first round pick KPP that Dewah said wouldn't make it...

But 3 game player Blaine Boekhorst definately wont make it?

Dont get me wrong, I've seen a fair few of your games and you have some players i'm a fan of. I think St Kilda are rebuilding quite well - but they should be given how long theyve been doing it.

I still think your boy is way off in terms of locking players in at 100% AFL best 22 certainties after less than 10 games in your squad without even considering those at Carlton who are developing....and I doubt he's seen many if any of our VFL games. Are you suggesting Dewah isnt biased in the slightest?

Maybe rice picks the team it will be easier to break into. Maybe he picks the club based on location, or facilities. I dont think either club has him in the bag at this stage.

are u using examples such as Lee/longer/hickey to show that choosing boekhurst over goddard was the right choice? :drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:

I'm using it to show that we did similar turning our first rounder into Jaksch, Whiley and Boekhorst.

We needed outside pace, and we got it.

You're bring critical of bringing in 21 year old players with first round draft picks. You did it twice in the same year.

and then the next year we made our 7 year strategic plan to win a premiership and completely changed to draft focus under the pelican.

your mob still doesn't have one!!!! or a national recruiter to my knowledge still and the champs start this weekend!!

I am sure a few of Dean Rice's old team mates were in his ear last night at the 1995 premiership reunion.
again its comical that blues fans either believe or hope this is true

This thread is basically

Carlton fans: "HE'LL PICK US!"
St. Kilda fans: "NO, HE'LL PICK US!"
Neutrals: "He'll pick St. Kilda."

Yep being at a premiership reunion with the head of recruitment and GM of football operations as former premiership team mates, I am sure there was no mention of how bailey was going.

so many lols

Beaconsfield to Seaford is a 31 minute drive while Beaconsfield to Parksville is only 45minute drive. 14 minute difference won't determine his destination
45 minutes from Beaconsfiled to Parksville.

As a man who takes the monash every day as well as the same train line i can tell you that 45 minutes is being a bit a generous :p

Blues didn't need Goddard, already got Jaksch and his had few years in the system and ready to go. If we were desperate we would have taken Hugh but needed burst speed why we went with Blaine

Bahahahaha. Your KPP stocks are terrible, and yet you don't need a key defender? Jaksch is a better forward in any case, Pears will kick 3+ on him tomorrow.
