Just imagine if we had a club monikered as the "Aboriginals" or "Noongars"...

Erin Riley and Adam Goodes - come on down...

Fighting Artichokes ftw

Surely the Dockers get a nomination. May as well call yourself the construction workers or baggage handlers.
Dockers is worse. Don't look it up on urbandictionary.

I liked this one

An afl team experiencing currently in white hot form. most commonly known as the underachiever, finally "kicking ass" in the league but still receiving feeble negative comments from supporters of rival homosexual club the west coast eagles, such as "eagles are better cos we won the premiership 12 years ago".....need i say more

Again, what the hell is a Laker?
Minnesota from all reports had a few lakes and a laker presumably is someone or an expression connected with lakes. A locational term if you will totally unrelated to its present location.

Cleveland Browns.

What are they named after, a turd?
From what I recall they were named after Paul Brown a president of their club. FFS I don't know if I'm right but Google is your friend.

Minnesota is called the land of a thousand lakes. So lakers are from there.

They even have Land'o'Lakes butter

I can't stand team nicknames that don't end in 's' and aren't really a tangible thing (eg; Heat, Magic, Thunder, Galaxy, Victory, Glory, Storm)

If you can't call a player "A/an [Insert team name]" then it shouldn't be a team nickname.
For example: "Dustin Martin is a Tiger" makes sense, whereas "Kevin Durant is a Thunder" does not.
