it was a good one. Definitely showed some marking power with his 4th quarter grabs. he shows lovely skill around the ground. Just a footballer. Physically just nowhere near the running ability he needs yet. Oh, really good in the ruck tooHrovats disposal has gone to absolute shit, disappointing because he does a lot else right. At least we know he's got it in him.
Good hard fought win in the end. Missed a lot of the game, how was Boyds bag?
I was afraid that was going to be called in the back
and he was meant to be our principal ball winner for the game and was just abysmal in stoppages. Finds cheap link up possessions that do only good for his stats. Brett Goodes came in and said "this is how you make your presence felt in a clearance" and turned the match on its head.Hrovat lucky another terrible kick I50. Lacks composure and skill. Just don't see it
Nope. He was bad. Needs more match practice.Missed the first half. Roberts do enough to walk into the seniors next week?
it was his first game in a month? wouldn't worry at all about his game, he was very present just sloppy at times.Hrovat was one of our best. His kicking is bad at times, but he has excellent poise and agility. He'll be a gun in time.
5 goals from Boyd is good, but he still has a case of the butterfingers. Needs to take more pack marks.
Fletcher Roberts was abysmal. Worst on ground by far.
Prudden was terrible.
Jordan Russell was sensational. I honestly wouldn't be against giving him another chance next year as a 29 year old. Big time player.
Roughead should not be a lock-in starter for the first team. I know injuries haven't helped, but his form has been abysmal, and he shouldn't get a walk into a team that's winning.
Port Melbourne extremely extremely unlucky. They deserved to win.
No.Missed the first half. Roberts do enough to walk into the seniors next week?
credit where it's due he was very clever to run off the markHrovat did a lot right in the last play, attacked the ball from a ball up, won the ball received a high tackle and played on, unfortunately the kick was poor and fortunately Boyd was held. Without his play the ball wouldn't have made it forward.
He needs to clean up his disposal, I still think he will make it.
I wasn't referring to a time period, I was referring to his last 3 games. I'm not doubting his ability, but he shouldn't be a lock-in starter for the first team unless he plays at a much higher standard.it was his first game in a month? wouldn't worry at all about his game, he was very present just sloppy at times.
Dale does a few things throughout the game that just scream quality AFL player, not a high production player at this stage by any means but geez he is classy.Boyd's awesomeness aside we were pretty undeserving winners in that game. Lots of missed tackles (bar the Roarke ripper), no discipline in pack marking contests, no size around the ball by players who should be dominant at it. Brett Goodes was the man and showed Hrovat what an inside mid looks like. I'm really disappointed with Hrovat, he's never winning clearances and muffs it on the outside.
Dale the best of our draftees. Roberts a few games off an AFL return you'd think. Good run around for Roughy but a tad sloppy.
right. surely the injury wipes his form slate clean. His last game in the team was as a defender because we were shot for key backs. He was fine up to that game in the ruck and didn't go too bad again todayI wasn't referring to a time period, I was referring to his last 3 games. No, because injuries are part of the problem.right. surely the injury wipes his form slate clean. His last game in the team was as a defender because we were shot for key backs. He was fine up to that game in the ruck and didn't go too bad again today
I dunno it was a floater that hit a port player on the ****, Boyd wasnt gonna get there. Agree he does get marked a bit tougher than most though. You got to laugh. Every player miskicked the ball and struggled with Port's pressure, most noticeably Goodes, Smith and Hamilton who continually turned it over by handvas well as by foot. But Hrovat is the one that's focused on because he stuffed up one chip kick at the end of the game, the last kick was fine but Boyd was held out of the contest which he rightly got the free for.
i'm not all that worried by his kicking, although it is pretty sloppy. It's that he starts in on a lot of clearances and just isn't showing anything in there. For a tall team we needed to be tougher on the ground today. Him figuring out stoppages is the key to his career. He should get there but it's taking a whileYou got to laugh. Honey? 22 touches and 2 goals for the second week in a row, he'd have to be close you'd think. The only ones worthy of possible selection next week would be Toyd, Zordy, Dale, Smith and Rough.
