Thankfully this was stopped preventing further escalation of the war.
Not sure why it's only an 'escalation' if someone other than Israel does it, I don't think this spells anything good for the civilians living in the region.
Where exactly did anyone say it's an escalation only if someone other than Israel does it?
preventing further escalation
Are you able to respond to a post without whataboutisms / strawman arguments?
Seemed to be what you were implying. Israel made a 'pre-emptive' strike into a foreign territory. That's not exactly de-escalation.
Not sure how this is relevant. You should probably google these terms some day since you keep using them.
What on earth are you om about?
Hezbollah tried to launch 6000 rockets at Israel even though they are a 3rd party to the war. Israel took out their rocket launchers before they could. Hezbollah still managed to get 300 rockets off.
Stopping a massive attack by a 3rd party against Israel is absolutely de-escalation in every sense of the word.
I can absolutely guarantee with 1000% certainty if the US fired a barrage of 6000 rockets at Hezbollah you would be calling it genocide. It's amazing how your opinion changes depending on who is doing what.
Hezbollah said it carried out strikes towards Israel in response to the killing of top military commander Fu’ad Shukr last month in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a populous neighborhood that is also the Iran-backed group’s stronghold.
So Israel killed someone in Lebanon last month. Hardly coming out of nowhere.
RE: the bolded, you wouldn't be doing that thing where you make things up about someone again?
So Israel takes out a Hezbollah commander who has:
they are a 3rd party
Sounds like some posters are disappointed the Hezbollah attack didn't succeed.
you wouldn't be doing that thing where you make things up about someone again?
As I said:
"Sounds like" is different to actually said so.
So it is you just making shit up?
No, that would be the poster that said "it's only ever an escalation when someone other than Israel does it".
That statement is 100% bullshit.
So Israel takes out a Hezbollah commander who has:
- launched repeated attacks on Israel
- openly declares intent to destroy Israel
- is openly anti semitic
Apparently a normal response to this is to attempt mass murder of Israeli civilians by attempting to fire 6000 rockets in one attack.
You made a statement that seemed to imply Israel dropping bombs in a foreign country wasn't an escalation. Despite this being an escalation from the last time Israel dropped bombs in a foreign country.
If Hezbollah were to stop the 100 fighter jets before they attacked would that be ok with you too? Also, any reasonable minded person would view stopping a mass attack before it happens as de-escalation.
If Hezbollah were to stop the 100 fighter jets before they attacked would that be ok with you too?
Yes they are fuming.Sounds like some posters are disappointed the Hezbollah attack didn't succeed.
If Hezbollah were to stop the 100 fighter jets before they attacked would that be ok with you too?
That same argument stands with not firing a ballistic missle into IranYes, by not firing a barrage of 6000 rockets at Israel that certainly would have stopped 100 Israeli jets in their tracks.
I agree with you totally here.
I reckon you’re right.Sounds like some posters are disappointed the Hezbollah attack didn't succeed.
Only one "side" jazny that celebrates deaths of civiliansYes they are fuming.
Sounds like some posters are disappointed the Hezbollah attack didn't succeed.
