Yeh I was wondering how one of his fingers was taken off but his other arm was broken and had a big gash in it.

Blurgh .. the IDF cut his finger off for prints identification.

The dismemberment of a corpse is a war crime if this probably falls way down the list.

What hideous shit this all is.

That was back in August?

They found his DNA in one of the tunnels where the hostages were, there was also a freed hostage iirc that claims Sinwar visited them.

IMO Sinwar planned to die this way and deliberately exposed himself. The IDF had moved on Rafah against the US and he would have known it was only a matter of time, so he'd do it his way, in defiance and above the ground.

It probably really stung he was portrayed in a caricature as a tunnel rat.

IMO he wasn't planning on dying, or fighting very hard. That photo that was posted shows only two mags and the AK with the stock removed and no optic. His stick would have been more combat effective.

Did they give the land back?

A simple yes/no should suffice.

It's a staging position in a kindergarten in an evacuated part of Israel...

He was wearing a scarf over his face, they didn't recognise him. By not removing his scarf when the drone was clearly eyeballing him, he was sure to die. If he'd removed it and let them see who he was, would they not have tried to take him alive?

If he were to surrender, absolutely, regardless of who he was.

Mistakes have been made earlier in the war and soldiers would be very clear on not making that mistake again.

I'd hazard a guess that any kibbutz on the border resides on land that was allocated to Palestinians by the UN in 1948

You'd be guessing. You failed to answer the question of where the Kibbutz is and why its empty....
