Current WAR CRIMES Israel - * ICC issues warrants for Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu & Yoav Gallant & for Hamas's Mohammed Deif

The ICC has also issued a warrant for Hamas leader Mohammed Deif, who Israel says they have killed.

According to the ICC, the chamber “found reasonable grounds to believe” that Deif was “responsible for the crimes against humanity of murder; extermination; torture; and rape and other form of sexual violence; as well as the war crimes of murder, cruel treatment, torture; taking hostages; outrages upon personal dignity; and rape and other form of sexual violence”.

It also said there were reasonable grounds to believe the crimes against humanity were “part of a widespread and systematic attack directed by Hamas and other armed groups against the civilian population of Israel”.

For Netanyahu and Gallant, who was replaced as defence minister earlier this month, the chamber “found reasonable grounds to believe” that they “each bear criminal responsibility for the following crimes as co-perpetrators for committing the acts jointly with others: the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts”.

It also found reasonable grounds to believe that “each bear criminal responsibility as civilian superiors for the war crime of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population”.

since the British mandate,
And here we are, do you think all the hostilities over the decades would be so hot if instead of enforcing families to leave their land the same people moved into empty land and didn't make a State that put them on a pedestal above all others?

It's all could of, maybes.

UN partition plan accepted by both sides would have probably averted the long running feud IMO.

But this is all irrelevant as this thread discusses war crime allegations during the current Gaza war started on Oct 7 2023.

These estimates are likely low and may not capture all children left with hearing or visual impairments due to war-related injuries. They also do not capture children suffering potentially lifelong psychological injuries as a result of traumatic incidents they have witnessed or experienced during the war.

These injuries – which include loss of limbs, sight and hearing - have been worsened due to the decimation of the health system and destruction of health facilities in Gaza, as well as the restricted flow and low availability of medicines, which has made treatment, therapeutic or rehabilitative care inside Gaza near impossible.

Deaths from bombs and other traumatic injuries during the first nine months of the war in Gaza may have been underestimated by more than 40 percent, according to a new analysis published in The Lancet.

Link to study:

Findings

We estimated 64 260 deaths (95% CI 55 298–78525) due to traumatic injury during the study period, suggesting the Palestinian MoH under-reported mortality by 41%. The annualised crude death rate was 39·3 per 1000 people (95% CI 35·7–49·4), representing a rate ratio of 14·0 (95% CI 12·8–17·6) compared with all-cause mortality in 2022, even when ignoring non-injury excess mortality. Women, children (aged <18 years), and older people (aged ≥65 years) accounted for 16699 (59·1%) of the 28257 deaths for which age and sex data were available.

Israeli government minister/terrorist admits they have prevented every hostage/ceasefire deal so far...

Translation:

The deal that is being formed is terrible. I know the details of it well:It includes the release of hundreds of murderous terrorists from prisons, the return of Gazans, including thousands of terrorists, to the northern Gaza Strip, withdraws the IDF from the Netzarim axis, and returns the threat to the residents of the encirclement - thus effectively erasing the war achievements that have been achieved with much blood by our fighters, so far, in the Gaza Strip. Not only that, it does not lead to the release of all the hostages, and seals the fate of the remaining hostages who are not included in the deal to death.

This is not a "hard choice" that must be made to return the kidnapped. It is a conscious choice at the cost of the lives of many other Israeli citizens, who, unfortunately, will pay the price of this deal with their lives. We have already seen the fruits of these deals in the past. We learned the hard way that there is no cover for all the promises that "we will get along later."Over the past year, through our political power, we have managed to prevent this deal from coming to fruition, time after time. However, since then, additional elements have been added to the government, who now support the deal and no longer constitute a balancing act.

This means that the Prime Minister will refrain from signing the deal only if the force opposing it is large enough to prevent him from doing so.*The power of Otzma Yehudit is not sufficient in the current composition of the government to constitute a lever of pressure to prevent the deal, and our withdrawal alone will not prevent its implementation.

*Therefore, I call on my friend, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, to join me in full cooperation against the terrible deal being crafted, and to inform the Prime Minister clearly and firmly that if the deal goes through, we will resign from the government together.

I emphasize: Even if we are in opposition, we will not bring down Netanyahu, but this move is our only chance to prevent its implementation, and in fact to prevent the surrender of the State of Israel to Hamas, after more than a year of bloody war, in which over 400 IDF soldiers fell in the Gaza Strip, and to ensure that their deaths will not be in vain.

Along with this, I call on the Prime Minister to come to his senses and take steps that will lead to the defeat of Hamas and the release of our hostages without abandoning Israel's security: completely stop the transfer of humanitarian aid and fuel, electricity, and water to Gaza, along with continuing the military crushing of Hamas until its complete defeat.

Yeah, if Palestinians had accepted a plan that saw them go from majority landowners to minority owners, there'd be no feud.

Seems Israel and their supporters think everything is hunky dory as long as Palestinians subjugate and accept their lot in life.

Over half of the original state designated for Israel was barren desert.

Palestinian ownership was allowed in Israel also and still is to this day.

Turkey was the only state with a real claim as the successor to the Ottoman Empire.

They walked away from responsibility mostly for former Ottoman Empire territories.

In any case this is all irrelevant to the current Gaza war, started on Oct 7 2023 and subsequent war crimes discussions.

He's discussing a two state solution in general here. Which is something the US has always supported includung tabling a ceasefire agreement in June 2024 that included a pledge to a two state solution with a united Palestine.

Events prior to Oct 7 would be more appropriate in the general thread Palestine or Israel or both.

This thread is for discussion of war crimes committed during the current Gaza war starting Oct 7 2023.

The barren desert was actually populated with the bedouin who'd live there for millenia.

Palestinians already owned the majority of the land, so nice of israel to allow them to still own land they already owned before the colonisers intervened

No state needed to claim it as it was already inhabited.

It's relevant to this particular flow of conversation in the thread and the context behind the war. It's not happened in a vacuum.

I'll refrain from discussing this as you clearly do not accept Israel's rights as a state.

None of what you discussed is remotely relevant to war crimes in the current Gaza starting on Oct 7 2023.

I accept Israel's right as a state. Just not in the form it exists.

If none of this was relevant, I wouldn't have had a post of yours to reply to in the first place.
